1) Treat others how you wish to be treated yourself. 2) Always do your best but embrace the learning that failure can provide. 3) Be grateful for what you have and make time to give back.

Five years ago I was 66 yo and acquired a GSD puppy, to force me to walk. And each day since then, we have walked once or twice a day for a mile or two. This is my "reset" time. I have found it very rewarding to record my thoughts on my cell phone on the way. Often on the way back, I listen to the recording. This acts as a personal diary. I review my goals and problems and emotions about everything. These are things that would bore, or maybe even shock, anyone else, but working things out has helped my mental health enormously.

1. Be respectful to others irrespective of how they treat you. 2. Everyday go for a walk which is not a journey to work or shopping. 3. Make time for family and friends

So true on life’s journey I find true friends are extremely rare , I can count them on one hand and I don’t need all my fingers ! And passion or to be passionate about something finding this is a journey x

I'm 68. I've raced through my life. I'm healthy and have a vigorous appetite for what life throws at me. But, I am a planner, and always been discipline in what ever I've done over the years. But there's one thing I hold as a bible to my life that I believe has stood to me over the years. Once a month mainly Saturday. I stay in bed until 5 in the afternoon. I can honestly say, it continues to re-energize my mind and body Ready for the following week ahead.

1) find your purpose in life and everyday live into that purpose as much as you can. 2) Don't just appreciate others but let them know it and support them regardless of whether or not they support you. 3) Take tasks one step at a time or you will easily be overwhelmed.

Make new friends but keep the old one is silver and the other gold. I have found that whenever I do something I thought was going to be uncomfortable it usually turns out to be a good experience in the end. Overcome your fears. Cheers Ron

HI Ash, you have literally helped me from head to toe over the last year. I am a lot poorer but happier after taking your advice on personal dress/care. I have bought some good hats, gone back to wet shaving and have a fine selection of Loake shoes/boots which are all mirror shined. Wishing you and your a very happy Christmas and good New Year.

The family has a half dozen 1) Don't Get Angry. 2) Don't get involved 3) Don't get stupid 4) Don't get caught. 5) If what you're doing works and is enjoyable, keep doing it but If what you're doing doesn't work, Stop doing it 6) planning prevents poor performance (edited)

Thank you so much for this, Ash! My fiancée was shocked when I showed her this video. You’ve reminded me of the importance of journaling (something I used to be great about but have neglected for too long) and just simple goal setting. Today’s the first day of putting these rules into action! You’re the man!

My dad's were unspoken but boiled down to 1) trust no one. Be cynical. Every one has their own agenda 2) be your own man. Speak up. Don't follow the rules. Challenge what you don't agree with. 3) have a plan a, a plan b, plan c. I am still on plan a, but there were always at least 3 other plans ready and waiting should my career, then my business have failed

The first and second rules map nicely onto Jordan Peterson's second rule, from "12 Rules for Life", "treat yourself like someone you're responsible for helping." If you approach your life with the critical eye that you would for a beloved child, sibling, or cherished friend, there is a tendency towards better facilitating the actualizing of your maximum potential. You have to have a sufficient love and respect for yourself to demand that you do what you must to achieve what you are capable of.

1. Never neglect service for others, be it as simple as civility or as much as driving a friend to the airport or helping clean up a stranger's mess, when it can reasonably be provided. 2. When doing something, be it speaking, dressing, working, writing, eating, dancing, driving, or socializing, do it properly as best as you can. 3. One is never complete. There's always more literature to have read, more talents to be had, more philosophy to know, more games to be good at, better social skills to be gained, a better wardrobe to be had, and so on. That part of one's brain that insists on their personhood being insufficient is best listened to! One's personhood should never be complete.

A late friend of mine had three rules he lived by. 1. Never bet on another man’s trick. 2. It is a mortal sin to allow a fool to keep his money. 3. In God we trust, all others pay cash. He was quite a character. Died of kidney failure at age 46.

A very wise advice Ash, thanks once again for a special video. I have been into Scandinavian literature for the last couple of years and I came across Jante Love which is a set of 10 rules introduced by the author Aksel Sandemose basically variations of a theme: Ikke tro at du er noe, don't think you are special. Very interesting to see that these rules seems still important in Scandinavian countries. I wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year.
