Don't overlook Hugh Bantam of Van Der Graaf Generator, Ton Scherpenzeel of Kayak, and Kit Watkins of Happy the Man.

Ik miste Electric Orange….
@BackingTrackCenter13 сағат бұрын
Electric Orange is zeker een geweldige band! Hun combinatie van psychedelica en krautrock is uniek. Welk album vind je het beste?

Glad you mentioned Mike Ratledge. Soft Machine doesn't get enough credit for advancing (and even originating) progressive rock. I saw them with Jimi Hendrix in 1968, and came away extremely impressed. Their first album is one of my favorites of all time.
@BackingTrackCenter14 сағат бұрын
That’s an amazing story! Soft Machine really was ahead of its time, and Ratledge’s work was groundbreaking. Appreciate your comment!

Ozzy is only famous, but his singing skills are poor
@BackingTrackCenter13 сағат бұрын
I see your point, but many believe his unique voice is what made Sabbath stand out. What do you think?

It's a shame Thin Lizzy wasn't there. Geldof and Midge should be ashamed

True! It could have been a lifesaver for Phil Lynott who died shortly afterwards.

My 3 Favorites: I. Keith Emerson II. Rick Wakemam III. Richard Wright

Great list! Emerson and Wakeman are often compared, but Wright’s subtlety was equally powerful. Appreciate your comment!

Coverdale and Gillan don't sing metal. Hetfield sounds like a goat and Dickinson is as livesinger a disaster. Good performer but a bad livesinger.
@BackingTrackCenter13 сағат бұрын
Hetfield might have a unique style, but it works for Metallica. As for Dickinson, have you seen any recent shows? Some say he’s improved live.

And King Crimson never had official keyboardists though Fripp, McDonald and Cross played mellotron sometimes. Well maybe Keith Tippett should be mentioned?
@BackingTrackCenter14 сағат бұрын
True, King Crimson never had a dedicated keyboardist, but their use of mellotron is iconic. Tippett’s work on Lizard is unforgettable. Appreciate your comment!
