YES! And especially since they played the theme from the 90s in the background! That was the RIGHT one to play!

In so many ways so many folks know that they owe their Success To Guiding Light. As many of you know Bill Bell & Agnes Nixon made their Bones working under Irna Phillips before going out on their own. He Co Created Another World and alot of talent came from that show. I told UK Soap Fans how Soap Operas were broadcasted to sponsor and promote Soap Products and they were surprised. On one of the Early Episodes of Eastenders (1985-Present) there was a Convenience Store where they had a Box of Pampers. Tony Warren went through so much Red Tape to get Coronation Street on the air in 1960 but the rest is History. Alot of Actors from Downton Abbey, Last Tango In Halifax, Star Trek, got their start on the show as did Members of The Monkees & Herman's Hermits.

It was Past it's prime ! 57 years on television was enough should've been canceled years ago! IMO, great show in soap opera history but far from the best !GH is the greatest soap of all time 59 years and counting ( broke GL record) will celebrate 60 years onApril 1st 2023 and is a 15 time Emmy for winner best daytime Drama series! Now GL can't claim that now can they!?!!!

@@michaelnelson1128 Hey, let's be a little more supportive, positive and respectful to those who enjoyed GL. People liked GL and watch GH today. This presentation and tribute wasn't about comparing competition, just simply acknowledging the show had an impact on many of us and the ones we loved at different times throughout our lives. Something rare that linked family and friends. It will be time to celebrate GH in it's own rite soon enough.

Sad, but the writing became atrocious at the end of the '90s. The core families were gone. And I am sorry but Danny, Michelle and the mob was crap. Paul Anthony Stewart and his superb acting chops saved that storyline. And Johnathan and Tammy were a gross pairing. And so many praised the actor who played Johnathan, don't recall his name, but he overacted to me and was nothing like a Grant Aleksander or Michael Zaslow in their heyday. I still watch the now classic episodes and remember a much better time in soap history. Plus, killing Maureen Bauer was just plain stupid. Long live, Guiding Light!!!

Betty White had no business presenting this. It should have been Ruby Dee who was part of the cast.

Put respect in their names. They both passed away.

Another person who could have done The Tribute was Motown Legend Smokey Robinson who remembered rushing home to watch Gudiing Light & Search For Tomorrow when it was only on for 15 Minutes a day. Alot of Guiding Light Alumni have ties to Motown most notably Billy Dee Williams and James Earl Jones. Also over the years they have played "Motown Songs" like Shout by The Isley Brothers during the fifth street Fiesta.
