I think LINDIS PASS and Milford Sound, but very difficult to chose 1 or 2. CHEERS.

The heli hike onto Franz Josef glacier was pretty awesome but then the whole country is the most beautiful place. Iceland is pretty cool too (pun intended), if you’ve been?

Fox Glacier walk. The main road over Lindis Pass is nice, but for drive able views I think Nevis Road is cooler. The gorges on the Caples River are amazing, but for vistas the view north west from where the Caples leaves the flats and starts to enter the beech forest is really something.

Cave Stream - about 1/4 - 1/2 mile hike following an underground river - walking in the river the whole way.

I'm fortunate enough to live in Golden Bay, so I go out to the Archway Islands, Wharariki often. I have been to Doubtful Sound but not stayed overnight, looks amazing. I am keen to walk the Hooker Track, something I haven't done as yet. Thanks for a great video and thank you for sharing our beautiful country with the world.

Thank you so much for taking the time to explore, fall in love with and photograph my country. Your photos are gorgeous and show the specialness you've let touch your soul. It also reflects you as a person as well. I feel priviledged to call it home especially as a passionate amatuer landscape photographer, the diversity across such a small country and easy access is almost unrivalled. We are also very fortunate to have a Government that has worked hard and tirelessley to give back our freedom as quickly as possible, and although we cannot travel abroad, Kiwis are getting out and about in droves falling in love with their own country. Hopefully you can return here soon. Keep up with those awesome videos and photography.

I agree that NZ is a landscape photographers paradise!. I live in Sydney Australia and I live in Sydney Australia and LOVE going to NZ. I've done 6 trips to the South Island and MILFORD....LOVE IT!! Mt Taranaki on the SW coast of the North Island is spectacular (When you can see it....generates it's own weather due to the size & location). A trek up to the Pouakai Circuit- Reflective Tarn would never be disappointing.

Thanks for making and sharing this video Josh... and thanks for personally showing me some of the coolest spots in New Zealand. I recognise one of the photos shown in this video, and I clearly remember you pointing out the potential of that great shot out to me. The image of Mount Cook at sunset, reflected in the river in the foreground... that's one of my favourite photos from that trip!

As a Kiwi, I agree you have chosen some great spots ..... Wharariki Beach is my favourite beach for photography .... the 4WD trip out on Farewell Spit is pretty cool. Doubtful Sound is amazing, better than Milford.... which is also great. I haven’t yet made it to Sefton Biv, but did get up to Mueller Hut. Top Forks in the Wilkin is a lovely spot ..... Waterfall face is quite daunting and the descent over Rabbit pass also daunting, but an amazing trip. My. Favourite spot is the Olivine Ice Plateau ..... damn hard to get to but well worth the effort!

Fantastic to see. We have just returned to #5 (Whangamata !) after 5 weeks touring, photographing & hiking the top 2/3 of Sth Island. We went to #2 & close to 3 & 4 & have previously done 2 boat trips to #1 . Great video Joshua & thanks for your wonderful & truthful comments on our magnificent canvas which surrounds us. You certainly only have to travel a few kilometres from one magnificent photo spot to the next totally different but equally magnificent one. So glad we have digital cameras now, otherwise I would frequently “run out of film”. Look forward to your next video on #5,6,7 &8 ;-)

As a photographer living and working in New Zealand I constantly pinch myself at the beauty and variety of this land. I’m based on the incredible North Island amongst my favourite places the coromandel Mt Taranaki and the Tongariro region blow my mind I’ve only been south once and from start to finish my jaw remained dropped. So many places to shoot Mt Cook is amazing the hooker track is a must do. The drive through Arthur’s pass and Moeraki boulders never fail to inspire. Great video and photography Josh new subscriber for ya mate 📷❤️

It was on a trip to the South Island 10 years ago that got me into photography, unfortunately i only had a point and shoot at the time and the pictures didn't do justice to the beauty of this part of NZ. Living in Auckland I do plan to return some day . Thanks for showing off our beautiful country.

Very nice video, Joshua! I spent 3 months there in 1990, hiking the tracks and sleeping in the huts. Great experiences in Mt. Aspiring, and Abel Tasman, among many others. I shot a lot of Kodachrome slides, which I still haven't scanned. I need to do that!

I'm a Kiwi who has spent his entire life in the outdoors of New Zealand. My favourite spot in all of New Zealand is the Ahuriri Valley that is situated at the northern end of the Lindis Pass on the left-hand side heading north. This valley never fails to deliver no matter what season or weather conditions. You need a 4 wheel drive to get to the best spots but even in a rental, you can access some great vistas. I have crawled and heaved my way over nearly every inch of New Zealand either as a professional hunter and in my later years, a photographer and the Ahuriri is a gift that just keeps on giving. So if you're going through the Lindis keep your eye out for the turn-off and pop up the valley for a look-see.

Hey Tony, yes! Ahuriri has been on my list for ages. Every time I drive the Lindis and go past Birchwood Road it calls to me....

Argh. I drove over the Ahuriri and was more interested in the possibility of fish down stream than vistas upstream. Next time, fates willing, I will look the other way! Thank you!

@@chrisc4527 yep awesome fishing in that river, you can also see Tahr Chamois and Red deer all at the same time on a good day. Just as a point of interest for those reading this the Ahuriri is not a braided river which sets it apart from most of the Canterbury/Otago river systems. This makes for a more compact image of the river itself.

I have been to New Zealand in April 2018 too for 4 weeks on a roadtrip on the south island. I lost my heart to this remote part of the planet! Most of the time i had boring light conditions and often rain, but it was an absolutly incredible journey! Wharariki Beach sadly wasn't accessible when i was there. Heavy thunderstorms with landslides in the mountains and flooded roads on the way to the beach made this impossible. :'( Hope to come back to NZ one day!

I worked there for 6 months and travelled all over. Completely amazing country - before I had a decent camera . Such an amazing variety within a relatively small area- we lived and worked in a subtropical climate amongst ferns, big trees and big beaches. South island is completely different , huge mountains. We loved it all . Maybe the coolest place was sea kayaking in the Abel Tasman.

@@JoshuaCrippsPhotography sadly the way things are going with the rest of the world NZ will be closed for a long time. Our economy is now booming for many Kiwi businesses and our government will not let anyone in to threaten it. Again sadly only a working vaccine or worldwide herd immunity is going to bring change.
