That was a novel way to colour the bowl. I like it. I see you have a good collection of rough turned blanks waiting in the background. Like that to.

Thank you very much, it is a fun way to color and fast and easy, no artistic experience is required 😬 the blanks if from a Big spaltet birch Log i got and it was time so it did not go to fare in the spalting.. but they have nice grain so looking forward to turn them :-) Thank you for the comment and for watching .. I liked your paint job. Just wonder when the bowl is finished, if the outside and inside have the same smooth finish? Also, if there are bubbles in the paint, could you use a heat gun or torch, like I see people do with resin, or is a finger better? Thanks. Safe turning.

Hi Joseph, There is a little structure on the outside but it is still smooth, i startet with the fingers but off camera I use a point tool the finger did take the paint off..between the lacquer coat I used 0000 steel wool .. that helps on the smoothness on the outside too .. I dont think you can use a heat gun .. I think it will shrink the paint .. Thank you very much for watching .. stay safe and have a great day 😀

It is a very old trick 😀 we did it as kids in school, and then I saw a lady on Facebook, do it to her shoes and I remembered 😀😀, and then I thought!! that can be done to a bowl .. 😀😀 try it it work an all kind of items 😀 Thank you for watching .. stay safe and have a great day 😀😀
