The biggest challenge for me is maintaining the patience required. I'm on day 17 of a cut and this time I've tracked every calorie, been dialed in with lifting & boxing. I weigh in daily and it's really amazing how much the body will fluctuate daily. Literally one meal too much of meat and fruit, or a few extra glasses of water, and I can gain 2 to even 4 pounds in 1 day. I'm still tending in right direction, but it does stink when you're doing everything correctly yet you have to get through maybe 6 days before seeing scale corrections.
@Cgunn962 ай бұрын
I would suggest tracking your fat loss weekly to begin with. It’s super easy to get attached to the scale and make way to many adjustments day to day that will hinder your progress. You have your numbers all locked in so trust yourself and pick one day every week to step on the scale and log that weight. Still frequent enough to make adjustments if needed, but it won’t mess with your mental so much.
@rosnowАй бұрын
Remember that a pound of fat is 3000 calories so unless you’ve eaten so much to put on a pound of fat, you are not actually gaining 2-4 pounds of fat, that’s water, food, constipation, there’s a lot of factors that will change your weight on the scale. Take any scale weight with a grain of salt, you are just looking at the trend. Also suggest a secondary measurement, like measure your waist or use an app that does a body scan.

I was definitely addicted to the NEED to sweat every workout. I felt that if I didn't leave soaked in sweat I needed to do two a days. Looking back it was so unhealthy. I started doing 20 min of sauna at the end of my workout, that not only gives a boat load of benefits but also fills that need to leave the gym sweaty. Such a mind game.

100% running is a skill, just like walking. Most people think running is done with your feet and it's done with your hips. If you notice, especially when people are using b-roll on their videos they will have people running and almost all of them are running improperly, they are falling forward while hopping up at the same time, and you will see their head bouncing up and down. Somebody that actually knows how to use their hips their head will stay level the entire time, just like professional sprinters. Their head level does not move because they are using their hips, their hamstrings to absorb&pull into the ground while using the glutes to push themselves forward. The feet are just contact points. They aren't the driver. Same goes for walking, if you were walking in two different directions, by the time you've reached a mile you've actually walked a further distance. Your channel is certainly the best in this space. You guys should do more work with Mike Mutzel from High Intensity Health (which is how I found Sal in the first place 😂😂)

My trainer told me not to get on a scale when I first started training. My body changed and my clothes fit better I was seeing results so there was no need to weigh myself. To this day, I very rarely get on a scale. I can tell how tight my body is or isn’t by the way my clothes fit, and then I know how I need to adjust my workouts.

It is true though, if you can build up your work capacity then you can translate to a larger work capacity in the gym, giving yourself the added benefit of getting one extra rep or doing one extra set. I would say do conditioning intermittently throughout the week if you hate doing low intensity steady-state cardio, even though you can get all of the same benefits from doing cardio once a week. Again, if you can't do cardio once a week, outside of walking because you should do that regardless, include conditioning 3 days a week

I have had anorexia for 28 years and my metabolism tanked at about 987 calories - that's where I was about a month ago. I have now gained up to 40kg and I'm still only on 1,100 calories a day, and I am still gaining, gradually trying to increase my calories by about 50 a week. I am trying to reverse diet, adding about 50 calories a week. I train 5 days a week at the gym to build muscle to help my metabolism increase, and I have built some, and I know because I'm hitting some new PBs, and I'm gradually trying to reduce my cardio. Is it possible for me to actually recover my metabolism so I can eat a more normal amount of food and be healthy? I just feel like it's hopeless and I'm a lost cause.

Maybe as a temporary quick cut faze. If your a female or very petite body type, or goal weight is 125-150 lbs. It’s usually 9 to 12 caloric energy multiply idea (lbs)body weight. One year of consistent strength training with gains and eating correctly? Not going to do it for you. Conversely, if you diet and lose some fat your body is not going to just prioritize your hard earned muscle because you’re eating a little less and moving more.
