The fire-nettles actually seem like pretty good weeds for winter You dedicate one plot every few blocks for them and you have an easy warmth source You could plant them near roads and you might not even need to equip winter-gear (That is, if you can get the warmth bonus without having to touch them)

A singe Fire Nettle plant helped me through whole winter. Get a little stab and you're ready to go for a trip :) Managing the plots was also easier since there is no other way to warm yourself up on the field.

That alone makes them perfect for winter honestly, just have a couple growing around and you could re-sting yourself to stay warm, perhaps a recipe like the Dragonfruit Chili Salad that warms you for an extended period

Don't forget you can stay close to them and have a heat source just don't get to close or they attack you. It's pretty neat 60 heat for 6 HP löst during winter

Fire nettles also raise temperature by a tiny amount maybe 10-15 degress for 3 or 5 seconds when you use them as fuel for a campfire or fire pit I think

I had an idea of making farm plot but only with fire nettles (if they are hostile to mobs too) and planting lureplants around them when playing Wormwood and this would be mad in my opinion And i think Klei should give us a hat or suit that makes hostile and neutral plants(Sea weeds for example) passive to player when its worn by the player

For growing plants now is it wise to make sure you don't plant anything before you plan to do a few days of cave diving? Would it be a waste of seeds? I am used to planting then going into the caves and coming back to a full harvest. Is this no longer viable? While with weeds I am assuming it doesn't matter you can just ignore them and they will grow on there own?

They changed all the seed appearances besides the random seeds, and also It's not possible to plant a weed unless you plant a random seed.

Um the fact you said they can be useful parasites its kinda contradicting the word parasite. Definition of parasite is an organism that uses up resources from a host without helping them at all and mostly causing harm. If something helps you is not a parasite. Parasites seek their own good and creat you nightmares if posible.

By “them using its host for their own good” i meant any host not just humans.
