I’m pretty skinny and can subsist on little. I lived in Europe for a bit and found that certain beers actually kept me going for a long day without a meal. I was a student so no judging! I firmly believe that the right type of beer could legitimately sustain someone for 40 days.

@@aclark903 obviously lent is not meant to exactly imitate Jesus’ fast. We would die. Also usually the number forty when used to refer to time usually translates to “a long time” in scripture.

i must do this!!! find a nutritious low alcohol beer!!! i am assuming you can have daily communion of course with the host!!..i really like doing a bit of sacrifice over lent...makes Easter really special....i will start with Advent!!...there are non alcohol beers anyway...Thanks for the inspiration!!!

I learned that there were monks who would do this, or something like it, and that they would then go into their monastery and pray but would have visions of demons and through this there was an order who made a large part of demonology. Do you guys know who they are?
