My brother in law just bought a really nice Harley for $2000. He could buy 2 of them and have $500 to spend for that price.
@Zomby_Woof2 ай бұрын
Its not the 5k I object to, its that its hard for me to justify the price. I mean, it _is_ premium, but with the exception of the rear shock, they are $20-30 per component upgrades. Now, in fairness, ecells is one of the few vendors that actually uses what I believe are the best currently available geared motors. I forget the manufacturer, but its on the ecells site. They are rated at 1500w watts each continuous - not peak. But they aren't a reason for much of a cost difference. They are only a cost difference of about $50 for the pair. Overall, I'd say the components justify a $500-1000 premium. But getting them all on one prebuilt unit, with all the supporting infrastructure without having to build it from scratch, or buy a close-but-not-there bike and then throwing away conponents to upgrade them - I'm not sure how much more that's worth. Its going to be less for people who have built a couple of bikes, a lot more for people for whom changing a tire is a challenge. I've built one up from an unpowered bike, and owned a prebuilt dual motor, and I know how to replace/upgrade controllers, diagnose and repair hall sensor failures and so on. And I'm now retired, so its not something I rely on to get to work. At the same time - my experience with knowing that wanting to upgrade a component that will cost me $50, but will cost $125 to ship and take 6 weeks to arrive, means I don't completely dismiss the validity of that premium. I've gone through the detailed specs of this bike in great detail, and I can say that if you need something that can do 35mph to and from work, every day - safely and reliably, and you live in a location where you can get away with this without requiring any special licensing or insurance, its worth the price. When I was commuting via ebike, it was saving me about $200-300 a month in commuting costs. I will say that if you're doing a car replacement, there is no sufficiently reliable ebike. Pick up a throw away $800 bike as your backup, so you are flailing the day that it throws an obscure error and the mfg is scratching their heads, and a ride service is going to cost you $80/day.

Honestly you'd think at the premium price and all the premium parts on this bike it would actually peak at more than just 3000 watts between 2 motors. Especially when bikes like the Philodo Jumbo and H8 both peak at 3000 watts at half and one third the price respectively
@ramborambokitchenkitchen63574 ай бұрын
The philodo h8 is slow in comparison to this. I only got that thing up to 35mph before it would cut all power and there was no way in the display to get rid of that. My 52v 45amp controller diy bike does 2600 watts and I can get that to 43mph (the limit on the display lol).

Great bike! What it needs is the ability to swap out the second battery for Tesla style fast charging adapter. Also, I'd like a tire option for the wheels spokes like the Fido Titan e-bike has. Other than that , I'd probably swap out the handlebar grips. The battery compartment faces down, which I don't like but could live with. Also, I'd like to have the throttle control on the left, but again that is picky. I could live with this setup. Good stuff.

Check out the death wobble on the dual star….scary!
@e-cellsawde-bikes33734 ай бұрын
@jfly2249 is a major troll for Wired Ebikes, possibly even the owner. He spreads false information about me and misleads all Wired buyers. For four months, Wired promised UL certification on their batteries, but they never delivered. In contrast, the KINGS CROWN from E-CELLS comes with UL-compliant batteries, something Wired doesn't offer. There have been fabricated claims of "death wobble" on E-CELLS bikes. A customer posted a video of the ECELLS DUAL STAR with a front-end wobble at around 22 mph. It was quickly determined that his suspension was improperly adjusted, and the excess weight he carried on the rear rack caused leverage that lifted the bike's front end. After watching my suspension setup video on our website, he corrected the error and posted a second video explaining what happened, showing that the wobble was completely resolved and apologized. The term "death wobble" has been borrowed from motorcycle riders, but it was originally coined by a customer comparing the ECELLS and WIRED bikes side by side. It seems this individual is trying to discredit my company and products by throwing baseless accusations. Unlike some, I don’t just buy bikes-I build them. I assist in the design and engineering, offer a lifetime warranty on the frames, and my prices are transparent with no forced add-ons. Check us out at ecells.com. And don't forget your helmet-especially when riding our new 50 mph geared-drive 3000W, 80 amp MONSTAR with twin Hentach 1500W motors, radar verified and coming in December. Video is already out!
