That's not terrible. Pull the bottom end apart. Rebuild

I'd keep the KA. Simply you already have high quality parts. Another is that you are much more familiar with the engine now more than ever, why go another route? Pull the motor, rebuild the bottom and take your time again. Also I would run lower boost and not two step it next time. Maybe daily drive it at first to get it running healthy slowly.

yea I wanted to see what y'all thought about maybe switching it up. I'm KA all the way!

Pull you oil dipstick, and put a lighter under it, that will test it in two ways,1 if it sizzles like bacon that’s water,2 it it lights on fire 🔥 that is. Alcohol in the oil, with that smoke coming from the tail exhaust pipe tells me two things it’s got water in the oil combustion chambers where it’s got broken rings or it’s got alcohol in the oil maybe, test it , see if it has hey sizzling affect ,you understand what does sizzling is right, that will indicate on any vehicle that you work on for the rest of your life if they suspect a blown head gasket or cracked block you pull the dipstick if it isn’t milky you can still find out if there’s water in it by putting a match or a lighter or under the dipstick under the oil on the tip end of the dipstick and sit there for a minute or so until it melts the oil off the dipstick basically if it has water in it it will sizzle like bacon in the frying pan, that is steam vapor ok, that a good Old school technique-that my dad taught me actually I think, I taught my dad he didn’t know it either thanks BigAl California love ya

The smoke actually has a blue tint to it so it’s excess oil in the combustion chamber which I believe is seeping through the valve guide seals that I talked about a few videos ago. My fuel system is capable of running e85. I was actually running rich on some of the high boost pulls. That is a good trick to see what’s going on with it though. Thanks love ya

Like I said, loss rod clearance, will show it’s true colors, that is crazy, and with all sultion Doctor adds, now you know, those rods are with out good baerings in them, cleve lites 77s are the ones alcohol resistant , you might be able,to Micro polish the crank at the shop to with in of stock clearance tolerance-and get 2 thousand of an inch clearance maximum on the rods baerings, ok don’t ever go more then 1.5 to 2.0 thousands on a supercharged or turbo charged connecting rod bearing clearance, in the engine ,it all sets exactly stock measurements forget the hype that everybody tells you that’s all hype for them to sell you parts, and that for those people, that have a ton of funds right, good test on the Lucas, thanks BigAl California

I have mahle bearings in there right now. I’m gonna get it out and check the crank to see if it’s caused any damage then go from there. I’m gonna send the block and crank out to a different machine shop and make sure everything gets done correctly.

Yes, rod resized and maybe get by with micro polishing the crank, probably not going to be that bad, had you spun a rod baering then that would be a whole other thing, ( you know what a spun rod baering is) where the baering get out of its notch, and spins in the cap, that is not what is going on ,this deal was simply caused be too much bearing gap, to wide and turbo pressure pushing on it maybe the alcohol getting in the oil might’ve ate the bearings away a little bit or as well,, that’s why you use a resistant bearing called Cleve lite 77s that are resistant will not be affected by methanol alcohol or any kind of alcohol stock clearance is too much gap for a turbo charge supercharged motor or nitrous motor any of those three have to have a smaller clearance on the rod bearings ok, don’t go for that hype but those people try to give you, but on the other hand ,do your thing as well, it’s your money, right, find that guy/shop team that know how to keep higher performance engines running on a budget, right, thanks BigAl California loveya

There's enough content and builds with K-Series, 2JZ, RB's etc. Keep the KA 100%, us KA owners greatly appreciate these builds and were all learning the potential of this motor. NISSAN all the way.

Yea I hear ya. The KA is my go-to and I’ll definitely keep showing what this motor can do!
