Zdravo Amerikanka. Amerikanac here, married to a Serbian woman and living in Serbia now. Love your channel.❤ Kraljevo is nice, but you didn't mention the beautiful Zica monastery??? We live fairly close to Smederevo and need to go there often for things like visa renewal and official translation, but it wouldn't make my list. The fortress is nice to see one time, and the central walking plaza is OK but nothing special. The road west of town along the Danube is interesting, and the drive south through Kolari to Selevac is very nice. Pollution is pretty bad certain times of the year, it's very crowded and difficult to drive and park (for a smaller city), kind of dirty and not as pleasant as other smaller cities like Sombor, Subotica and Arandjelovac.

You didn't mention Kruševac, the old Serbian medieval capital city, the city of Prince Lazar, Vinjak, the city of the Serbian chemical industry and very kind and very awkward people! It is located in the very middle of Serbia in southern Šumadija, it is closer to Belgrade and Niš than Kraljevo and somehow more urban. It has Bagdala hill, many monasteries, cultural monuments (one of the best theaters, all the best Serbian actors are from Kruševac...)
@amerikanka
@amerikanka Жыл бұрын
Hi, thank you for your comment! And you're right, Kruševac is a very beautiful city, absolutely! The main reason I included Kraljevo over Kragujevac and Kruševac is because Kraljevo is in the mountains pretty much while still being well-routed to other parts of Serbia for traveling. And since Serbia is a land-locked country, and it doesn't offer the sea like the adriatic countries, I wanted visitors to know about some mountainous cities for nature excursions. But I've visited so many cities in Serbia; I'm sure I will make a follow-up video and include other cities I like and Kruševac will probably be on that list ;)

There you can go to the nice Sinagoge of Subotica. Lake Palic also has a cool Zoo. Nature around is worth a visit :) It's not famous for nightlife or clubs, but it's excellent for chill and relaxation🙃

It's hard to sum up in one sentence. I just have had a lot of great experiences here and the people are sooo nice/cool/fun/welcoming/supportive/friendly. I just love the energy and culture and flair of the Balkans. There's a Meditterenean, passionate energy to the Balkans, and it's beautiful by the sea of course. And I would be lying if I said money wasn't a factor. I spend a lot of time in seaside Croatia instead of seaside Italy because they both offer pretty much the same landscape, but Croatia is more affordable--although, these days, especially since inflation, it's getting more expensive, especially in the summer, yikes.

Much love and respect to you for being different than most KZbinrs. Mainly due to the fact that you show Serbia from a different side than only Belgrade. I can't wait for my retirement. So that I can retire to the land of my roots. No matter how expensive life can be there. Then it will still be much cheaper on average than in the country where I now live and work. And I was born and went to school. But luckily I was raised speaking Serbian at home. Very little chance. Unless I win some lottery then I can emigrate to Serbia before I retire. And these are definitely the places I would like to visit often. Although I have to say that novi sad is my least favorite. Mainly in connection with criminal activities by drug dealers and that kind of scum. It's a pity because in itself it is quite a beautiful city. And plenty to do. And to see.

@@amerikanka Like they say here, you're welcome. In the Netherlands is where I was born raised Live and work. I try to go on holiday to Serbia at least once a year (Has to do with my financial situation and my responsibility I have taken for the care of my birds that I cannot take with me.) until I retire and as long as my mother lives. She immigrated to Serbia in 2016 as soon as she was able to retire. As soon as I can retire. I honestly also plan to emigrate to Serbia for good. Although many things are well organized in the Netherlands. there are way too many unnecessary rules and laws When it comes to certain things. Especially if you are building a house. that it may only have a certain appearance and not a certain appearance at all, Even that can differ per municipality and or province. because otherwise it would not fit into the street scene. In Serbia, on average, you have much more freedom on how your house may look, which you build from the ground up, and whether you renovate an existing house. Not to mention that in my opinion there are way too low sentences for certain criminals Here in the Netherlands. In that retrospect the Netherlands should take an example from certain countries abroad when it comes to those same types of criminals. Not to mention the (soft.) drugs policy. Too many times in my life have I seen and experienced nuisance weed users to say nothing of the real drug users. I myself am 4O+ years old so I have seen and experienced people like that enough. And I don't even live in one of the big cities. But I used to go there often when I still had a car. Every nuisance drug user or nuisance weed user is one too many. Sorry for the very long comment. But I thought while I'm at it.

well, i hope you will not have to wait too long to go to Serbia :) I know that's hard when you feel like you can't live your life the way you want to until you take care of some big responsibilities first. i hope everything works out for you! I don't know what it's like to live there, but as a foreigner, it just seems so beautiful

@@amerikanka If you're talking about emigrating as soon as I can retire. Then I have to work for a few more years. I am now 46 years old. And here in the Netherlands, most people have to work until they are 67. From that age, Most People are allowed to retire.. And as far as living in the Netherlands is concerned. I was born and raised in the Netherlands, still live and work there. The only thing I can say for sure. The Netherlands is far too expensive in certain things for a small country. On the one hand, many things are well organized here in the Netherlands. In terms of what kind of compensation you can get. But you have to be able to keep track of a lot of theoretical things in terms of sorting papers and providing supporting documents. Precisely because of So many different rules and obligations. Worst of all, Unfortunately it is a fact that at some companies you need a course and or training for even the simplest things.

Thanks so much for the kind words :) I really like the culture and vibe of Serbia. It has bigger, more lively cities. I think there's a lot more convenience to Serbian cities too. You can find a lot of random things you need in stores when it comes to food, lifestyle, tech stuff, etc. ...or using websites look kupujemprodajem, which is something like amazon in serbia. So I think logistically, the experience of living in serbia is a little easier and more eventful and happening. But Montenegro is great for a slower-paced life by the sea if you don't need all the action of Serbia... which these days, I am enjoying more laid back, simple seaside life in Montenegro or Croatia. And then I pop back into Serbia when i need to buy thiings I need like camera gear and see friends in Belgrade and Niš and get a little more energy
