That noir just has an amazing clean sound especially that arpeggio setting! Not too choppy & not too over layered. I think the noir & the giant come out to be my go to for that unique nord tone, if not better!

I just love, love, love the NI stuff. I’m so glad I bought it. Great demonstration of what it can do! Just two quick comments: - I wouldn’t say the color dial is like the volume knob on a guitar because it doesn’t change the frequency spectrum per se. It works more like a velocity curve but with finer adjustments, doesn’t it? That’s how it makes the sound darker or brighter. - Then, in my mind the tonal shift is something very different beacuse AFAIK it shifts formants. I LOOOOOVE that they included this in the Noire (and I wish it was in the others as well; formant shifting in real time is kind of CPU intensive and not every plugin theoretically capable of this does it well). Good explanation of the dynamics knob though. I’m SO glad NI put that in because it makes life soooo much easier in both a live environment as well as producing music. I hate having to automate the crap out of pianos. Also it sucks having to reign in a piano’s massive dynamic range with a compressor. If I understand it correctly this is basically what Nord do with their piano libraries which don’t have a ton of pure volume dynamics which makes them such a breeze to use live.

I really need to hear the piano sound to make sense with all the things you’re saying.😢 I want to understand. I really do. But all of this is really super new to me.

Thanks for the video. A couple of questions...1. Which do you prefer to use most often? 2. What effects (verb, delay) will you put on your channel strip or sends?

Big fan of the Olafur sound around the office! That keyboard has influenced a lot of what we've produced and what we listen to. The Noir is a close #2 for playing alone. That sub is 👌🏼 We've got a both top 5 delays and a top 5 verb video coming before the end of the week!

Great video and information, Corey! Do you use Noire for studio recording with Shane & Shane on Spotify? If so, what are some song examples I can listen to? Thank you!

How did you Eq the Noire? I really like how the low bass notes sound. How did you eq the piano overall?
@rickbiessman60842 жыл бұрын
The mind blowing thing about the Noire is that you really don’t need an EQ to get this sound. It’s as simple as turning on the "sub" and adjusting its volume. -> Instant tasteful but massive bass.

Thanks For this info. I have some constructive criticism. The balance between talk and playing is way too heavy on talk.

Sounds like a final fantasy soundtrack

Waaaaaayyyy too much talking. I’m not new to keys like many other commenters, but 10mins in and I’ve heard or or two seconds of playing… #skip
