storms happen everywhere :D and strong winds aren't uncommon... always tie down trampolines... you can kill people with those horrible things... and yes snows can happen in Spain even though it is frigging hot in the summer :D and the solar panel/power is solveable but of course need to focus on it when building the system... always build to be able to run stuff for several days without sun. spain is really strict if you build without permit, but Portugal is too and many don't follow the rules and could be in a lot of trouble if the gubberment finds out... just needs one annoyed neighbor the isolation is both a boon and a curse thats for sure

Then it is just "research more, avoid trouble" but doesn't sound as cool as the other saying... but I wish you all the best.. Portugal is better anyways... I hear how they rip off people to get building permits and what not in Spain

This is the exact reason why I will be also leaving southern Spain and moving to Portugal. I want to build a natural structure either wood or cob or earthbag strawbale combo and don't want to have to write a letter to the ayuntamiento every time I want to wipe my own butt. The amount of red tape and beurocracy when it comes to building here is insane.

Exactly! We are in Portugal now. It feels much easier here. Although we hear that around the Algarve building permissions are also not so easy to get.
