Hi Erika, firstly thank you for this wonderful lecture, it really helped me understand the mistakes I was making in a lot of CR questions. I have a doubt in the Bonus Question - ' An investigative journalist' at 1:23:02 I understand the logic behind the answer option E, however isn't there an argument flaw which could make the correct answer B? i.e. the news article was published 'last week'. In the conclusion, they are talking about the sales for 'this week'.

question mentions that they have faced decline in sales this week only. the impact in question is happening this week only even though the article was published last week.

Hi Erika, Firstly, thanks for taking out time and doing these classes with such detailed explanations. I had two doubts, One at 1:10:00, The conclusion states that more than half of the students will not be able to perform at a high level in all their courses. So in order to weaken the argument shouldn't we rather say that more than half of the students were able to perform at a high level in all their courses? Second, at 1:30:00, Even if 70% of the coyote survive to adulthood in the wild, How are we saying it's related to bromide compound at all?

Regarding your first doubt, I used to have similar doubts, because you can weaken a conclusion in multiple ways, but I realized later that we have to weaken and work with conclusions keeping the *premises* in mind as well, they reached the conclusion drawing from the premise i.e those statistics, so we need to chose an option which weakens the *connection* between the *premise* i.e those statistics and the conclusion, else there's no point of those numbers, and all those other options also do a pretty good job at weakening the conclusion saying that sports also enhances reasoning ability and study links, all those also say that students will not underperform.

Hmmm i dunno if what i do is critical reasoning or critical thinking if there is a difference or what it is... but i do cause and effects to get to the roots of problems and fix it so there is no flaws its long painstakingly time consuming and tends to result in a potential permanent solution. For instance finding greatest commons amongst a group of problems or all problems. What i do is similar to what elon musk uses for quickly learning called first principles learning i find the root or roots of all problems and then I find out what is the same for all of them. For instance they are all problems problems are all bad. problems being bad are all in need of a solution. Then i think why is said problem bad what makes a problem bad? Someone decides its bad everytime this is true. Therefore if nobody thought of it as bad it wouldnt be a problem. Ok so why do people decide something is bad. Usually cause it is not they're normal way of doing something or they have had a bad experience or been taught its bad from someone who has had a bad experience. Greatest common i can think of is cultural conditioning aka environment shapes the person. Most often a problem occurs out of imbalance aka inequality or restriction of freedom. This can be a simple misunderstanding or miscommunication it could be a manipulation or attempt to control someone which again falls into the restricted freedom. Simple fix would be under any circumstance freedom is a must equality is a must. Simple give freedom by letting anyone do what they want as long as they do not do to another what is against what the other would want done to themselves. In other words respect personal boundaries. If this was a law and it were broken freedom can still be upheld simply by giving the law breaker a choice between 1of3 punishments. Banishment from community, enrollment into etiquette/ societal norms training. That way they know how to fit in whats ok to do whats not ok to do. Or they choose eye for an eye meaning whatever they did gets done to them if they are a recurring offender they get to choose again but not any option thats been chosen before. If they repeat offense and have run out of choices well theyve been given 3 chances lucks run out they get to choose how they want to be sent on with the ferryman to speak to they're divine maker aka death by choice of method. Also they arent aloud to choose death of old age im wise to that one already lol. Nah they could pick any death with a weak but whatever they choose will happen immediately after and if they dont choose the people or chance can choose for them. Being wheel of fortune style randomized or the public chooses...

Problem I found that's so hard for me to find an easy way of explaining to others is... as far as I've seen nothing is caused only by 1 thing there is never only 1 cause and never only 1 effect happening from said cause. Not to mention every cause is just an effect from another bunch of causes. I have however found that if you use the top 3 cause that caused an effect you've got usually over 90% of what caused that effect to take place. But this all gets extremely complicated when you go as far into science and other studies as I have I have no clue how to piece everything together. For instance every electron has its own freedom of choice cause yeah it is alive and has a mind of its own. But wait only when we have no expectations on the electron basically it does what it wants whenever it isn't affected by us. If interested look up the double slit experiment also this can be done at home by yourself with a cardboard box tape and something to cut the cardboard as well as some artificial light. You'd have to look up the video for instructions.... Anyhow it seems a lot to me like the placebo effect and nocebo effects play a major role into what happens or doesnt happen in life. Seems that we get the choice if the experiments with placebo and nocebo are legit. If so they are actually strong enough to heal us completely and even strong enough to kill us if we just believe then we can walk on water apparently... I've yet to find out how to strengthen my believes and experiment with my own power of the mind to prove absolutely for sure if placebo and nocebo work and how they work as well as what the limitations are if there are any at all...

Is there flaw in my logic? More importantly is there something I can do that might improve my methodology? I definitely don't have it all mastered and I'm not great with explaining it. I'm usually much better at bringing things together finding relations and connecting the dots. In other words creating solutions for pretty much anything by thinking outside the box because i take all the boxes everyone has created dump them into a giant circle organize them and piece together a solution from the pieces offered.
