The 767 is still one of the most underrated commercial jets. A workhorse that never truly got the recognition it deserves.

I spent about 8 years flying the 75/76 for Delta. I flew the 76-200, -300 and -300 ER. The -200 was affectionately called "the dump truck". It flew like one. The -300 was better mannered and the -300ER had more power and the smooth FADEC (fully automated digital engine controls) engines. I really enjoyed flying it. When the -300 ERs would come in from Europe, they would do a quick maintenance check and send them to the west coast for another check. I flew loads of trans-cons on them. Lightly loaded for the relatively short flight to the west coast I often saw 500 kts TAS with over 4,000 FPM climb through FL 270 (about 27,000'). Great flying, but the 75 was a bit more fun. The 76 was the Cadillac, the 75 the Ferrari.

I am an Airbus fan boy! But please wait for it…. The 767 was without a doubt one of my most favourite planes. I used to travel on them frequently with both British Airways & Kenya Airways. I really liked the 2-3-2 and business seats. So many good memories of me flying to see my family. They always felt so safe and rugged. A true workhorse. I love the A330 and have flown them many times with KLM and also went on the 767’s they replaced. But even I have to admit the 767 had something the A330 did not . I only wish Boeing still made planes like this (the 757 was a little gem as well, but that’s another storey).

Only flew Hawaiian's 767's back in the late 90's and early 2000's. Very comfortable when our family of 6-8 were travelling 2X2. Always had a window or aisle.

The 767 looks are the most pleasing - nicely proportioned, not too big. The 2-3-2 seating is ideal from a passenger's perspective, although the airline bean counters might think it inefficient.

@Gusearth 26 күн бұрын
definitely - 2-3-2 and 2-4-2 are THE BEST widebody seating configurations. Sad that we might not be seeing them much in the future, as all dreamliners are 3-3-3 now and some airlines are starting to fit their A330s with 3-3-3 as well.

the "double excuse me" is definitely annoying for window seat passanger... but airlines keeps pushing the limit of seating arrangement.. A330/A340 or B787 was designed for 2-4-2 but pushed to 3-3-3, even B777 was designed as 3-3-3 is pushed to 3-4-3... even there was a time a 747 seating of 3-4-3 is pushed to 3-5-3 🤦

I flew Delta's B767-400 ER and I absolutely loved it. The flight was super comfortable & was more spacious too due to the 2-3-2 sitting in economy class. While the aircraft itself was 27 years old , Delta has refurbished a lot of their old planes & has kept them top notch ever since. Highly recommend flying them with Delta!!

I've been lucky to work on the 767-300ER as a flight attendant, and what a pleasure it was. Despite the age (29 years on some models), it was powerful, reliable and comfortable to work on… I miss it

The 767 family is the one I've flown on the most. That's been split between the 200ER and 300ER. I've flown on the 200ER with EL AL on a few occasions (1998, 1999, 2009) when they still operated the YYZ-TLV route. The rest of my 767 flights were on the 763ER with EL AL (2009, 2017), Air Canada (2004, 2012), and most recently, Japan Airlines from NRT-YVR on the way home from a trip to Thailand two years ago.

I love your channel. Thank you for not using AI. I do not know the specifics of how it works but I think it's a real hack job when other channels use it instead of a physical narrator. It can't be that hard even if someone has to type up a script to just go ahead and read it. It is definitely more pleasing to listen to. Once again, I love your content. Keep going. Thank you!

For a moment, I thought the title referred to variants that only carried 5 passengers. Shouldn’t check KZbin before I’ve had my coffee. My dad worked in aviation. His company made relays used on the 757 & 767, so when I was 16, we got to go up to Everett to see the rollout of both planes back in ‘81. Later, we got a tour of the factory floor and got to go inside an unfinished 767. Great memories.

Flew on Elal 767-300ER, 4X-EAP, 4X-EAL and 4X-EAJ, EAL was the newest in the fleet and EAJ was the oldest. Although the cabin was outdated, the legroom in Y was very good. In fact, until now, I couldn't find any aircraft that could beat it.

I flew on ACs 767s on a number of ocassions (-200ER and -300ER) and my god were they so comfortable! A bit loud, but the 2-3-2 seat arangement was seriously underrated at the time.

I've never flown them but I work at an airport where I have refuelled all 3 basic models. The -200 is cute and stubby, the -300 is perfectly sized, and the -400 is my favorite variant of all three. Its long and elegant.

What would be a nice icing on the cake is to expand on the 300 / 300ER series and go through the various door configurations that were offered to different customers; e.g. BA vs AA with their 3x Type A doors + 1 Type B vs 2 Type A + 2 overwing exits. Quite impressed with their range. First flew on one in 1994 between LAX and LHR in a single shot with UA.

I flew to Lusaka from Heathrow and back twice in 2006 and 2007 on a Boeing 767. I have happy memories of my time in Zambia so I associate the 767 with happy memories. Now that I think of it, I flew on the Nairobi to Amsterdam route with Kenya Airways so that could have been a 767 or 777.

I was fortunate to have flown on a Qantas 767 back in 2011 on a domestic flight in Australia. I also flew on a WestJet 767 in 2019 from Barcelona to Toronto. The 767 is a perfect size widebody aircraft for a lot of carriers, a role now taken by the 787-8. Can't wait for Boeing to build an NMA. They will sell at least a thousand units.

Those West Jet 767,s were actually from Qantas West Jet got them to use on the Toronto to England route they had a lot of problems with the them Qantas was actually the only airline that had an engineer station up front for a 3 man crew when the went to West Jet the made them into a 2 man cockpit they say that after they took the engineers station out there was room for a pool table 😅

I think it is unfair to not mention the Airbus A300 at all... that jet was the first twin wide body launching in the mid 70s, at in my opinion the 767 is a reaction to the A300. Just because the A300 was not initially accepted, it was first, flight with European carriers, and first with Eastern overseas in the US.

I wish other manufacturers other than Boeing and Airbus developed a middle-of-the-market plane. While the B767 and A300 were fantastic, they were 50 years old at this point. That being said, the B767 had one of the most engine options among commercial jets. From the old school JT9D to the new PW series engines, it’s obvious that domestic carriers and cargo guys LOVE these babies.

Only flew twice on the 767, first time probably in 1991 on a 300ER with Canadian Airlines (defunt) and the second time on 1992/12/17 with Air France in another 300ER. It didn't leave a mark, so I assume it was just another regular flight. Both flights were from Paris (CDG) to Mirabel (YMQ).

Boeing also wanted to make a 767 partial double decker. Essentially slapping a 757 fuselage on top of the 767. Similar to the 747, but with the "hump" towards the back, instead of at the front. The project was scrapped because nobody wanted it.
@mh12-47

That's actually not true. It was one of the early concepts for the 777 programme. But the airlines wanted a plane bigger than the 767 but smaller than the 747.
