DODGE IS AWESOME! Don't let some nerd tell you what you should and shouldn't use. The Dodge perk works great. Maybe if you want to be the number 1 duellist in the world, it's not such a good idea. But if you just want to have fun playing the game you paid for, and get to the top of the scoreboard with a decent K/D... It does just fine. Works for me so it can work for you. Some players know how to deal with it, but many don't. Don't listen to salty kids who tell you not to use it. They're basically saying "Stand still so I can hit you please! Stop getting out the way of my attacks!" ...It's a playstyle. Learn to deal with it. It has it's disadvantages to be exploited. Not everyone is trying to be the best player in the world, some just want to do well. That can be achieved with or without dodge.

5 rules of Mordhau: 1) don’t attack bards 2) if there’s a man with a funny face and a maul with no armor, run 3) war axe go brrrr 4) 5 people dressed as caveman with only ROK for weapon is the most deadly thing in the game 5) if you’re by teammates, stop swinging horizontally you shitter Edit: really felt like I needed this 6th in here. If your only “cool move” is a feint, 90% of players will learn that you feint before EVERY swing and they will start bashing your little 2iq skull in every time you feint because you leave yourself open. Just because you’ve seen GIRU do something similar does not mean you automatically learned how to do exactly what he did through osmosis of watching the video. It was literally rule one in this video. I swear to god if I kill someone with a dagger when the only counter they do is a feint and they they ask how I predicted their feint and called their bluff; it’s probably because I just watched you fight 3 guys and only use a feint and somehow you killed them because they are brainlets and somehow didn’t read that they only thing you were doing was a feint over and over.

11:24 Something you worth mentioning in this video is that target switching is not only unpredictable but safer too. The person who you just parried can not throw out a new attack due to parry stun and thus is not a threat for the moment so ignoring him to attack someone else with the riposte. If you mentioned in your other video then I'm sorry but that's just something I think is worth pointing out.
@YegaSRT5 жыл бұрын
I think you hit the nail on the head there for me. I am one of those players that will run up and just left or right swing. It's thinking ahead of "i want to faint this guy" or "Gonna do a stab morph into swing". The problem I find with this is timing, if you do it too early they will parry before you get to the enemy and are able to take advantage of their parry and if you do it too late then they might get a chance to start their "attack" and then your plan fails.

My favourite loadout is the assassin build. 1 1 1, arming sword and a dagger. You can finish your enemies with a shadow stab. You stab with the arming sword but feint it by pressing 2 to swap to the dagger and continue with the stab. Even if they try to chamber it, the dagger is fast enough to blow through their stab counter. Pretty satisfying

A very good guide. The only thing I would pick on is that his combat style seems overly reliant on feinting. Feinting is incredibly effective and easier to pull off than a drag but it's very high risk high reward. The problem is that more experienced players are less likely to fall for feints and will punish you for it, either by countering with a chamber or just waiting out your feinting fit. This means that you will waste A LOT of stamina. If you notice your opponent isn't falling for feints, I would recommend using them a lot less often against them. There's definitely a skill ceiling for feints.

One big tip that I think a lot of people need, in relation to the "Be a team player" idea: If you're playing a TDM type mode you shouldn't let your teammates do duels. Flank the person they're fighting and use all the skills you learned from this video to sneak some damage in, even a small hit could interrupt their attack and lead to your teammate getting a good kill. 1v1's should be avoiding and you should seek to tactically overwhelm them.

Shame learning all of that is impossible in frontline. You either get wrecked/sniped/impaled/decapitated by veterans, or you get wrecked by a horse. Meh. I love the idea of the game but so many options to PVP is just so confusing.
@Swarm5095 жыл бұрын
I am finding this to be true. I am starting to go into smaller frontline servers now, less chances of a massive wave of enemy's rushing over you. This is especially true when you get a ton of veterans on the front line that all can swing wide and take out the few enemy's that approach them. My biggest issue is getting practice fighting against faints (they almost always get me) and people dragging or acceling. I also need to spend time to learn how to do those effectively. I will say Zerk is right on with some crowds wanting to get that easy kill. Rush into them and they will fumble over each other... throw in a fast sword or powerhouse axe and you can get some quick kills/delay a ton of enemy's.
@AnUtterSimpleton4 жыл бұрын
The real rules are as follows: - Naked maul classes were funny for about five seconds on launch and will out you as a new player/easy target. - Default archers will be focused and dumpstered. Also outs you as new/easy. - Dodge is for people who are in a steady relationship with a bad dragon product because they like situations that expend a lot of stamina and get foreign objects inserted into their bodies. - Use cosmetics/voice lines that are as gaudy and obnoxious as possible, this will make your opponent angry when they die. If they're angrier they'll play worse. - If you play ranged, you have to be as cowardly as possible. Run away from people at the slightest provocation and shoot them from afar. A real powerplay is to shit on them in the chat like you beat them with skill so that they get angry and try to focus you, making them avoid the objective. - Being super toxic without using the chat is a fine art that translates into a form of effective psychological warfare. As mentioned previously, cosmetics, voicelines, and even weapon choice can all aid in this. Congratulations, you're prepared for Mordhau. Only use Foppish.

I started playing Mordhau same time as my friend. We started about half a year ago, we have become somewhat okayish at the game but still learning. We have played the game somewhat a lot but also had long brakes. I became a bard in the game because I felt I was bad and ngl I just founded playing songs fun for myself. But I thank you for this, altought I already knew most this back of my head as common sense kind a its great to actually see/hear and actually understand why and how so I can actually try to think of using these skills differently and just not mindlessly using any of these skills randomly.

Yes! 'Don't be a greedy clown' finally someone had to say it hats off to you sir, not my words mine are slightly more vulgar 'you F****** kill greedy c****!' this is the best tip I have heard yet it happens on your team all the time turns a 1v1 or 2v1 situation into a nightmare when your team comes to 'help' spamming the living shit out of everyone!

A big, huge tip on feints as an opening. If you face the same player in multiple engagements and feint every time, they WILL expect your opener. This is called conditioning. I recommend opening with a standard swing as a way to feel out your opponent. If they parry early, that is the sign that they will be vulnerable to feints. The usefulness of a feint is in fooling your opponent. If your opponent expects a feint then the feint has failed before you have committed to it.

"4 guys do not need to team up on 1 guy" You, of all people, are the least qualified to say that.

I know people say 1v1s are the true way to test skill, I disagree, a frontline match can test adaptation to the tides of battle, one moment it can be your platoon guarding you, and then next you get a bunch of people with pointy sticks charging at you, being able to adapt to the certain situations and react accordingly is the true test in my opinion. It just tests awareness to the things going on around you. I've noticed that a lot of plays whose played tf2 for 5 years only doing 1v1s are great in those scenarios but barely even help their team or find a right scenario to be in. So that's why I see frontlines as a good trainer for skill as well.

I was wondering how war axe bois always seem to keep swinging even when they get hit, but I always get interrupted! That Riposte nugget of wisdom is wonderful!

Two step guide to becoming a good Mordhau player! Step 1: Complete the tutorial. Step 2: Apply the tutorial. Seriously though everybody should do this, it's amazing how many people complain about stuff ingame that is specifically covered in the tutorial.

I think a lot of people do. But there is a lot the tutorial doesn't tell you.

This is definitely a late comment but here's a tip, if u have a short weapon like the cleaver and your up against a long weapon, stand extremely close to your enemy because it makes it harder for them to see through your attacks

27:50 Fun fact: If you are skilled enough you ARE able to throw a weapon at a flying catapult boulder to break it before it hits the ground.

The tutorial should really let the player know that ripostes are uninterruptable. For a while I was occasionally sweeping groups of dudes with a wide riposte swing and had no idea what was causing it.
