THE '56 FAIRLANE RUNS ON HER OWN FUEL SYSTEM!!

In this episode of Fixin' Two we work on replacing the fuel tank, sending unit, and dual action fuel pump (twice) on the '56 Fairlane. We ditch the electric fuel pump and finally run her on her own fuel system. BONUS...we get her up and down the driveway a few times.

To adjust carb turn the ritch and lean screws it tell r.p.ms change, turn out about a turn to turn and a half

another great video , good to get fuel tank in, can be a fiddly job and i am from new zealand and no screw threads are the same here ,clockwise to do up and anti clockwise to undo for a right handed threaded bolt , and no water swirls any way here haha

We took the trim off to work on the patina. I think that’s the next thing we’re going to work on. Clearing the paint/rust and putting the trim back on.

Great work! You've got it going and stopping alright. Do you have all the lights and such for it? Maybe start working on details like that. I've seen a a couple of good videos on the Coriolis effect. Veritasium and Smarter Every Day (who, I think, is from your neighbourhood) did a collaboration on the phenomenon using a couple of wading pools. Veritasium was in Australia and Smarter Every Day is in Alabama.

We do. We took them off to work on the patina. I think the next step is sealing the paint/rust and putting them trim back on.

Not sure what the inspection and registration rules are in your state, but the way that car started and ran she seems like she's ready to be a regular driver. I'd tune in to see it finished if that's your plan!

No inspections needed in Georgia. Just registration and insurance. The plan originally was make it a runner and sell it for someone else to love on. But now we aren’t so sure! Lol. Might keep it for a while and enjoy it. We plan to do more cars so keep coming back!

Soon it will be time to paint get it all scrubbed down all the glass out repair all the window channels, and paint it a 1976 Cadillac color called Dumbarton green, and get white bed liner and do the roof with that. With the glass out mirror tent 15%, blocks out lots of heat. You got to set it up for hot weather. And then when you really get into it they make a new product called electric air conditioning I've yet to try it out.
