Fuel and ignition upgrades may be all you need to make it a reliable daily driver. Put discs up front and it'll be as good as any modern Kia LOL.

Nothing is ever straight forward, is it? The Fairlane may be a challenge, but it is a great learning experience.

Great video, but i would definitely secure the vehicle from crushing you. I had a friend who was working on his car and crushed him. It only has to happen once.

Cool time I bet. Seeing this tied to Centennial Park reminds me how there were so many pearl clutchers in 96 who were embarrassed by the chromed up trucks used in the opening ceremonies. As if they weren't living in a country where even then trucks were outselling most cars LOL. Not to mention the South. I guess they were worried what someone in France might think......🤣

One project down many more to go. The truck could use some new eyes, some big round H4 halogen headlamps with 55/60 watt bulbs, the blue ones that are not blue. It's just a wider light. But it's not led. The valves coming over variety of wattages, so you could do 70/80 watt bulbs and they're cheap they don't cost much. Get an auxiliary wiring harness with its own relay so you don't have to use the factory wiring of the vehicle. Keeps that headlight switch nice and cool. The two headlight harness kit. Little things like that make all the difference because all the modern cars are screaming down the road with airplane landing lights and here you come with primitive 1950 30 watt bulb headlights.

Every toolbox I've filled up almost always has had bandaids and maybe some ointment. LOL If I stored some gauze in there, you knew I was about to get serious! Also, I'm in NH so I guess technically our language is just a little different. Haha. Especially the closer you get to the coast and "downeast" in Maine.

Nice truck! Not many of that body style left in decent shape anymore, especially in my area. Underside looks pretty clean (not rusted out). I guess it helps that you don't have a lot of ice and snow in winter like we do up north. Hope your friend gets many more years out of it.

We didn’t C notch but we are sitting on the bump stops. We read the same thing and maybe our original springs were worn out in the front but when we lowered on 2 inch springs, it was the same height so we went with 4/5.

I didn't have to travel quite that far, just over an hour. On the north shore of Lake Erie, across from Cleveland. We had a moderate overcast and, like your experience, that made the shadow more visible. Quite a spectacular sight! Next total eclipse in the US is on August 12, 2045, and the path passes over the south-west corner of Georgia, pretty much on your door step.
