There is no shortage of cool hotel suites in Las Vegas, whether on the strip, off the strip or in downtown Fremont Street area. The one I'm showing you in this video is at the Cabana Suites at El Cortez. Although suites are often very expensive, today I'm going to show you a more affordable option that is practically a secret, since so few people ever show it. This hidden gem suite is connected to a very popular casino that's known for having better odds if you're gambling at blackjack, playing slots, and although the sports book area is small, they do allow you to bet on horse racing. You can find cheap food and drinks in the hotel as well as just outside of it. This place even has coin slots for those of you that love the "old classic" Vegas feel! Tell me if you think this room at Cabana Suites is one of the best deals available.

@@totalDfitness you can get down to $20-40 in Vegas a night, no excuses. You can manage a whole week at an Airbnb for less than $150, no telling VRBO. Housing cheap in Vegas. Try that in my city, I've paid $3,000 a month for a 1 bedroom in the Mile High City.

I like to stay here for the following reasons: weekend rates are 1/2 the price of the strip hotels, 1 block away so not as noisy as Freemont street hotels, and casino bi is low minimum and 3 to 2 payoff forblackjack. Also, there are two additional restaurants across the street that you can use comp pts including ayce sushi.

I haven't seen one of your videos in a while. The cinema quality of them is great. Both the editing and the optical quality. And your style is a notch up. But a lot of your older videos were a casual stroll through Vegas. Great job. My compliments to you and your crew.

I’ve never been inside the El Cortez cabana suites, but the room looks really nice especially in the downtown area. I ate at the Siegels restaurant too and I enjoyed my meal I had there. EL Cortez has been around for 81 years and it definitely still has the same classic vibes that we don’t see often at the Strip. I love the editing you did of this video, especially when you did the tribute for Tony Hseih who redeveloped Fremont East District . I lost $60 bucks playing the Buffalo slots 🎰, but I always had fun enjoying myself every time I visit the El Cortez. I love that you’ve shown the interesting facts about the place and the pictures that you took as well. Plus, the view is so beautiful 😍 I’d definitely go inside the cabana suites one of these days next time I visit the area. Born and raised here in Vegas myself, I definitely recommend the El Cortez to anyone who wants to see downtown Fremont street. I agree ☝️ that the area is rundown, but it’s definitely gonna get redeveloped someday. I went to the neon museum last month with my dad, and I remember going to the Cashman field where I watched the Las Vegas 51s baseball ⚾️ game when I was little. Thanks for making this video Jacob, I appreciate it a lot. Happy new year 🎈🎆🎊!

You used to be articulate and speak intelligently on your videos, never starting sentences with the word "SO", I've noticed you never used to do this before you started hanging with Pompsie and Norma, both of whom use SO, SO, SO, SO repetitively at the start of almost every sentence. It's irritating to those of us whom dispise this ignorant use of the english language. The same can be said with the words LIKE, LITERALLY, BASICALLY and TOTALLY. The number of times these words are used as filler words is proof that the dumbing down of America is no myth.

Jacob, nice review of room, and property. I realized you're repeating what they are calling a Suite, but that is a hotel Room. Any other suite would be much larger, most are double the normal room size, and by square footage, that appears to be a normal room size. And resort or amenities fees are just a way to let the properties get their rooms listed at lower rates on different booking sites, these amenities where always included in your room fees back in the 80s and early 90s until these fees started appearing, and parking was always free, until the big boys realized, if folks are willing to now pay resort fees, let's charge for parking when you come here also. Just more nickel and diming, with more 0s behind it. At least the locals casinos don't hit you up to park and loose money in the machines. That said, the Room is nicely done, and the hotel seems very clean, and the extra security measures, being close too the shadow lands, is definitely a nice touch! Keep up the good work, always enjoy the videos and reviews.

For a really long time, the El C was my go-to for cheap stays, but then I got tied into MGM Rewards and it always made more sense to stay on the strip, especially considering I travel with family and the Cortez' 21-plus policy kind of removed the possibility of staying there. That said, I support their choice; there should be adult only options for lodging. Should I ever find myself there alone, you bet I'd go back, it's a great casino and if you like downtown, it's really hard to beat.

El Cortez, I was there last week. Very historic property. I think that's Sweet at the front desk. Siegel's breakfast is luscious, huge. Use the $5 food coupon on the three eggs, sausage, bacon, and pancakes. It will get you through the day of sightseeing, (even if you had decided to give up meat). At the Parlour I met the bartender Eder, and that's where I got my complimentary drink. I will definitely return, though next time I will have to have a pool, nearby. I just stayed there last week in the tower premium rooms. No privacy in bathroom ,vanity is open with no doors. Toilet /shower is closed off by frosted glass and door does not lock and its open above so not only you see the shadow of someone going to sit on the toilet you hear everything and the light shines into main room as there is no door to close it off. Yes they have free shuttle but only for 5 people I believe its once a hr I booked sthe huttle then was told there was room only for 2 and there were 4 to our party. Took a uber to Airpot instead. They put a braclet on you which you must were. We ripped them off. The positive it does have old vegas style, friendly staff and a nice casino but did find there were alot of street people in and out and very noticable in the washrooms by Siegal restaurant. Not knocking this place was excited to finally to stay there but till they improve the privacy of the washrooms I will not stay there again. They have nothing to offer for paying resort fees. Stay at the D as room cheap and they have pool but also they own Circa and you can use Circa pool free being that your staying in The D. If you do stay in the premium tower stay in the north facing as there quiet. Alot of noise facing south. Just being honest.

As one of my three weekly Hangouts the others being Ellis Island and the Orleans. Jacob did a phenomenal job in describing the El Cortez history and the Cabanas. Suites. However he left out two very important restaurants for anybody who has an El Cortez players card. Your El Cortez players card is good for the two restaurants directly across the street called the Eureka and the Sushi House both of which have other delicious food choices for you. If you have points or comps on your El Cortez player cards just walk across the street if you don't want to use the Seigals 1941 restaurant which I find to be overpriced other than the prime rib dinner which is what Jacob had. I love the race and sports book because they separate out the seating for the people who want to watch sports and for the people who want to watch horse and dog racing which is me I love the dogs I grew up on the East Coast when dog racing was the national pastime with horse racing until Indian Casinos started to take over everything and BS animal activists started crying about cruelty to dogs which is total BS. Horse racing is just as cruel unless you like your butt beating with a whip everyday but there's more money in horse racing and of course as all Americans know money rules everything. Thank God West Virginia is going to be the last state in the nation that still allows dog racing that is simulcast at the El Cortez and yes all the sports book attendents know me very well and they will tell you I'm pretty darn good at dog racing $ 1,500 last weekend. Final note just to update the history the El Cortez is the oldest casino in downtown Las Vegas or Las Vegas Henderson proper. The oldest casino in the state of Nevada is the Railroad Pass Casino in Boulder City

Interesting fact, the Cabana Suites building used to be called the Ogden House. The first floor hallway of the Ogden House was used to film the death scene of Sharon Stone's character in the Scorsese classic Casino. There's a ton of Vegas history at the El Cortez. I used to see the late, great, Tony Hsieh at the Parlour Bar plenty of times. He would sit at the corner of the bar, surrounded by his Zappos coworkers. He had a mohawk for a while, so you couldn't miss him. Zappos headquarters is located right across the street from the Cortez. It seemed like a lot of Zappos employees hung out at the Cortez back when I stayed there.

A simple question as I don't do Facebook or Twitter or Insta or TikTok , what is your height ? You look about 6'4 or 6'6.

That room was the biggest dump I've ever stayed in while in Vegas. Place should be condemned.

We just stayed there, the place was a dump and they didn't have rooms ready until 3 hours+ after the actual check in time. I highly do not recommend. Pay more for a better experience and service. I think the security guy got pushed over and died the week after our stay it was all over the news......
