I went to Vegas with my mom in February of 2020 and we went to a Chris Angel show because we love him and I've been watching him since I was a kid because of my mom, and we had got the cheapest tickets and while we were in line to go in, a guy came up to us and asked to see our tickets and then he gave us new tickets and we were about 7 rows from the stage

**I was chosen for one of David Copperfield's shows in 2021** It was completely random! I was with family, my mom was the one who wanted all of us to go and I was a bit apprehensive cause I didn't know the lore, but we go and around 3/4 way into the show he sets up that he'll be throwing a ball into the audience and whoever catches it comes up on stage, people were standing up waving their arms around and I did too for funsies but he ended up throwing the ball to me and I caught it. Long story short he asked me some questions about myself (where i'm from, who in my life is important to me, etc) and ended up pulling out a piece of paper that had everything I had shared about myself printed onto it, but the paper had been locked up in a box and attention was only brought to it after I had shared. I got to go on stage as well and he had me write something else on a piece of paper that he was able to predict without seeing it and after the show myself and other people who got chosen throughout the show who didn't seem like paid actors got to get a one-on-one magic trick from him (which was lame and he seemed tired but nonetheless). All in all I don't know if he has paid actors for specific bits but my experience was definitely genuine!

What happened? Did they have to take you back stage and coach you on what to say or do? Were you able to see any behind the scenes of any tricks?
@savanahborman3296 Жыл бұрын
After I got picked they had me walk directly up onto the stage. They didn’t bring me back stage or anything like that. Then once I was up there they had me touch the equipment to confirm it was metal, and whatnot, then I waved my hands around to see if their were any strings or anything. (the trick they were about to perform was the one were they “cut” the lady in half.). They also had me meet the women to confirm she was real and not a mannequin.

My first day in Las Vegas was less than 24 hours after the 2017 shooting. I was supposed to move there to live with my cousin and when the news broke there was a lot of phone calls on whether or not I should still go/if flights were canceled. When I arrived you could see the window of the mandala bay hotel kicked out where the shooter was. My cousins friend was at that concert and was shot through the arm. She’s alive but lives with that injury. Las Vegas was basically shut down and taped off and there was signs and vigils everywhere but the energy felt like ‘we’re not going to let that evil man destroy everything else’ so life continued. The whole incident was so surreal I didn’t want to move so far away from home (east coast) so I decided not to. I was 23. A year later my mom died suddenly. I’m glad I didn’t move to Vegas. I spent that last year close to home.

😭 I work as an usher for that Mj Live show. I've heard mixed reviews from the people after the show. some people really love it, some are ok with it, and some didn't like it. Most of the people who didn't like it as a Mj show, they say it's because the performer, Jalles Franca, uses his real voice and they say it takes away from the MJ experience. They didn't want to be reminded it was just an impersonator, which I can understand. But others like that Jalles does that cause it makes it more special for him to do this for people in honor of Michael Jackson. A good amount of people/and parents also complain about how sexual they make it for Dirty Diana, with the little cheeky body suits the female dancers wear (which I can agree on that to an extent, they claim kid friendly but then have them showing their cheeks off like that and bending over all sexual for most of the choreography) and how the impersonator tears his shirt and grabs his crotch. They said the real Michael Jackson was never like that and didn't have those kind of backup dancers during most songs, it was just him on stage fully clothed. I personally wasn't a huge fan of Michael when he was alive and well, but that's because I was young, but based on the videos I've seen of him live, he didn't really have all the backup dancers. And Dirty Diana performances were just him on stage in the spotlight. But it is a Vegas show, all shows that I know of in Vegas, have backup dancers and show a lot of skin unfortunately. Cause it is a Vegas show for entertainment, it's not advertised as a music concert...

I don’t know why people rate Ka as the worst cirque show. From the four that I’ve watched (the others being O, Mystere, and Beatles: Love), Ka has consistently been my favorite. The story is decently cohesive, the live music is both epic and beautiful, and that sand-cliff stage is just a modern marvel for the theatre world. If anything, I’d think Mad Apple at New York New York would have been rated the lowest. I still have to see it live but based on promos and clips that I’ve seen, it looks fairly standard

Watched Beatles Love high on shrooms and it was honestly life changing. I ended up joining the Vegas bday trip for my friend last minute so I bought my show ticket separately so I was sat by myself away from anyone I knew. When the effects started kicking in I started feeling a panic attack starting to set in. I looked at the time on my phone and saw that I still had a half an hour before the show start. I said “no… I can’t handle this!” and right when I sent the signal from my brain to my body to abort, the show started. Apparently I had misread the start time. To this day I’m so grateful I didn’t end up leaving. After 5 min I had completely forgotten I was on the brink of a potential bad trip and was absolutely entranced. It was a magical experience. When I linked up with my group while filing out of the theater we all just looked at each other speechless like 🥹
