I've been binging this build. Loving it. Makes me wish I had an older yota with a 3.4. lots of issues with this truck but you get to learn a bit of everything. I have a 4th gen 4runner with the 1GRFE. I'm getting to know it bit by bit...
@tylerschimke99523 жыл бұрын
that's the cleanest 3.4 Ive ever seen wow looks great...

Good call using Vaseline on the injector seals. Like the battery jumper. Looking forward to seeing you pop that dent out!
@gregh74574 жыл бұрын
i've used trees and come-a-longs before. Just have to jack up the truck to keep it from squatting and drape a carpet or heavy towel over the cable to slow the cable down if it comes loose and when it has pulling pressure on it take a 2x4 from the inside and whack the pillar a few times
@austinniemela4 жыл бұрын
That’s a good idea!
@jevans43794 жыл бұрын
I like the carpet idea, if it were me i would also add a couple of "rough" welds to the inside of that hook to reduce slippage. Austin, like Greg H says, when you get this pulled you will need to whack it a bit while still under tension . set it. Be careful!

Check your oil , smell it , internal fuel leaks either end up in the exhaust or the gas works its way past the rings and thins out your oil , I've seen this cause backfiring and destroy o2 sensors and cats when it gets into the exhaust and I've seen it destroy bearings when it gets in the oil , both are long term effects of course
@ikaikasrgnts86184 жыл бұрын
That's exactly how the exhaust should sound. And that batter jumper is amazing.

Is your wiring harness for auto? Does it give you any trouble codes or performance issues? I have auto harness and ecu. Wondering if it will work well with my manual 89 pickup. Also wondering how to get the vacuum controlled 4x4 to work since the ecu is for 2wd.
@austinniemela4 жыл бұрын
Yes it’s auto but I have a manual ecu so no codes

Ouch man, that cut looks knar-knar. No worries, keep on keeping on 👍 Love how easy working on the 3.4's are🍺🍺🍺 FSM says to lube those injectors with gas though, but vasoline probably works okay.

The fake Aisin/aftermarket cheapo injectors on eBay/Amazon are starting to really get people in trouble. It's not even a question of if they will work because they won't. Glad you were able to source some solid OEM browns.

Yea, I'm rapidly loosing trust in stuff on Amazon. They are getting flooded with cheap knock off garbage. I just rebuilt my original CV axles and have my replacements now to reboot. I was going to get a bunch of CV clamps to have on hand since I broke a couple that came in the kit from toyota. I read the reviews on several packs of them on Amazon and I think I'll just call oetiker and get some, hopefully, directly from them. Amazon is turning into harbor freight, and the funny thing is harbor freight has been working on upping their quality. Go figure.
