Hi Alex, Would you plan in the future to program the cobot to make coffee? Suggested steps are: 1) grab an empty cup and place the cup under a coffee maker machine 2) press some buttons on the coffee maker(any of your choice) 3) wait for the coffee to be dispensed 4) grab the cup back to its original position Thanks.

Hi thank you for great demo. Can it pick clothes and do some basic laundry task like sorting clothes if you put small basket near it ? I am desperate to get rid of these tasks with some desktop arm . Yout thoughts ,,?

Potentially! Although, keep in mind the payload capacity is 500g, so it would have to be a light camera.

Thanks for the review. Can you tell me why this looks like Ufactory's Robot arm what's the history between the two different manufactures? Are they both reputable companies?

This is a great question. The short answer is that both companies are reputable, but have different strong suites. Ufactory started as a hobbyist robot arm company, and then developed into an industrial robot arm company. Elephant robotics started out as an industrial robot arm company, and this is their first entrance to the hobbyist space. For that reason, I would say that the ufactory hobbyist arms are likely going to be a bit more accurate and have better software support. This seems to be changing though, and as always, it depends on your use case.

I think the M5 could be a great STEM-teaching tool for students and others. The M5 is the least expensive at $600 + shipping.

It's a good question! Traditionally, robot arms have been used with few sensors as input, mostly offering their flexibility in reprogramming repetitive movements. However these days, with the deep learning revolution, it's becoming possible to operate in unconstrained environments and perform tasks that were previously thought too complex for automation. That's a bit of a non answer, but my point is that the sky is becoming the limit. Think about human heavy tasks (such as sorting recycling material) and think about how deep learning + robots can be applied.
