I would also like to hear about it. I’m sure it would save the rest of us some time.

I really enjoyed this, thank you 😊. However what about if you can't afford to pay for a cook, driver and assistant? All seriously expensive in UK

We actually have a video premiering today covering the ethics/affordability of outsourcing! The key takeaway is to start SMALL and LEVERAGED. So for example, if hiring a cleaner weekly is unattainable, maybe once a month is a good place to start? Maybe instead of starting with a cook, hire someone to help you plan your meals (which you could hire someone in your price range online and meet on Zoom), and then use a grocery delivery service? Small & leveraged - that's where we suggest starting :)

@Lifehack Method Thank you so much for your reply, this makes total sense and is a really helpful perspective!

It is a little easier to outsource cooking and cleaning in a foreign country.

Specially if you receive in dollars and pay them in the local currency…

This is all great as long as we pay the people we outsource to a decent fair wage and make sure our privilege of hiring other people to do the work isn't a smaller scale of unethical labor practices we often condemn big business for implementing. In general, when we have money to hire we can put on the corporate boss hat and pay the smallest wage we can, make the employee, contractee, or freelancer feel insecure and marginally competent, and flaunt our privilege and advantage whether in business or personal (this was both).

Is it significantly cheaper to have a cook in Columbia compared to the US? Does your cook come 5 days a week or does the cook just prep and cook enough food for 5 days at one time?
@LifehackMethod Жыл бұрын
It is definitely more affordable in Colombia. But we actually have her come prep food for us one day a week (like big batch salads, rices, etc; easy lunches), and we pull from the prepped food throughout the week!

@@LifehackMethod this is great info! Love this idea. I was talking to a neighbor friend about it and wondering if we could maybe do once a week and have a cook batch prep for both our families simultaneously and split the bill. 🧐
