TO CHANNEL OWNER: I want to commend you for your outstanding videos which describe and show and compare these tents. This is the second video of yours I have watched, after just finding your channel. I very much like your presentation style, and that you show the rulers, the head space in the tent, and that you point out the many features. More importantly, you get in the picture, showing us the time needed to put up the tent and take it down, and your rain test for an hour or more is very helpful. Overall, you are producing some of the very best product reviews (with very good use of charts and graphics) that are helpful when evaluating similar products like this. Well done! Keep up the good work. I hope your channel gets the views and is a success for you. I have subscribed and will share your videos with others in the future when I can. Also, your narration is very good, clear and easy to understand, with good pacing. I also like that you show the air mattresses inside as that helps us visualize the amount of space. Also, thanks for mentioning the vertical sides on some tents, as it matters if you have more than one person inside (if the sides slope into the center too much), and headroom too.

Thanks for a great video showing the best tents in this price category. After watching your video on the Teton Mountain Ultra 2, I purchased one and got it for $109.00 during Teton's Fall clearance sale. I have had it out several times already and find it to be a great choice for me. It takes a great deal of work and cost to put these videos together and I must thank you for the great job you are doing for the community. Being an engineer I love the charts. Amazing comparison of these tents. The Mountain Ultra is really good and punches above it's weight class. I like the new graphics, however the background is a bit gamer style so I'd suggest toning it down a tiny bit. The charts are really awesome. Good work mate, cheers.

Hi Wer Kar! Thank you so much for the input and feedback! 🥰 I really appreciate it so that I can continually improve them. Oooh okay! Do you mind explaining what you mean by the 'background' and also what 'gamer style' means? So sorry I don't quite understand what you mean, KZbin newb here 😅
@Werkar27 Жыл бұрын
@@CampingGuidance Hey, you became a vet with when you crossed 10K subs mate😂 By gamer style background I mean the sprites (or the white sparks) flying around in the background of your charts. They'd be great if you were reviewing a graphic card or a CPU or something more performance oriented, however you vids are very calm and fact based. So I'd suggest something a bit more neutral or subdued. Your charts and rating system are spot on and they're of great help. Instead of a website you can have a read-only google sheet with the tents and their scores. Wix and Squarespace have good deals on website building and you can always get coupon codes for them.

I don't really game so I didn't realize 😅 But thanks so much for taking the time to explain that to me! Hmm so I should use a different kind of movement for the background instead of the sprites? Maybe I could use floating particles/circles instead of sprites, would that make a difference? 😅 Oooh and thanks for the great idea on the read-only google sheet! Do you think that would give away the video though, without folks watching it? 😅
@Werkar27 Жыл бұрын
@@CampingGuidance Thanks for that mate 😁 For the background, I reckon you could do either solid colours or use a neutral colour palette, like pastel shades and some effect on top of that. I don't really think the google sheet would give away the video as that will only have your ratings. Also, most people use their mobiles or TV's to watch you tube and only a handful watch it on a computer. So they'll won't directly jump into the video description as that will involve an extra step. However, you can mention it during your vid and redirect them to a Google sheet with your affiliate links as well. Cheers 👍

@@Werkar27 Hey you're welcome Wer Kar! I should be thanking you for all your support so far 🥰 And thanks for the tip on the background too! I'd love to hear what you think about it if you have! And thanks for the input on durability too! I'll see what I can do to add that to the mix. To be very honest, I don't continue to test every single one of these tents, which is why I didn't add in durability as a test haha. I only keep the tents I like (for myself that's the Ultra and Vista), and the rest I sell away second-hand to recoup some costs. And yep I do use some of these tents outdoors when I go camping, but only my favorite ones! 😅 So other tents like the Zion don't really see any outdoor use after I'm done testing them 😅

@@CampingGuidance OMG so expensive, here still at 120€ the easy 2P and 250€ the easy 3P. Despite the easy 2P for two peoples may a litle tight you can attach the awning (60€) and you have enough space and you win versatility, if you go alone you bring only the easy (4,8kg) if you go with someone or stay one week, easy 2P + awning ☺️ Guess you will put some indicate arrows for the pop up and a sign saying "exclusive for lizards and snails" 🤣

They are sold for about $100, but I'd imagine it would cost may be a couple of dollars more to have them properly seam taped at the factory, especially that most of them are not that big or complicated. There simply is no excuse to not to do that, except in the name of maximizing profit. For those really leaky tents, one might as well save some money and learn to create shelters with tarps. As always, a video well done.
@CampingGuidance Жыл бұрын
Thank you so much as always! 🥰 And yeah I can't imagine it'll be super expensive to properly tape it too. Or maybe they just didn't test it too thoroughly and didn't realize where it would leak 🤦 Oooh and thanks for the tip on tarps too! @@chomp54321 Ah okay! I thought you meant a tarp without a tent, I've seen folks do that before but I never tried it out 😅 But yeah a tarp over the tent is definitely a great idea for rain! Thank you for the input 🥰
@chomp54321 Жыл бұрын
@@CampingGuidance I'm sorry I muddied the water by changing topic on you. In my original post, I did mean just using a tarp without a tent, but a tarp over a leaky tent sure is an economical way to help with a leaky tent. My philosophy is to pay more and get a really good tent (I understand that not everyone can afford that). I only put up a tarp if it is going to rain on the day of packing so that I don't have to pack away a soggy, wet tent. If it rains on the other days of the stay, no tarp.
@CampingGuidance Жыл бұрын
@@chomp54321 Ohhhh okay! No worries I totally get what you mean now 😊 Ah I see! Tent designs really surprise me in how bad they are. I think most tents are designed for cold weather. Maybe not but that’s my theory. I can’t come up with any other reason on how bad they are. I need a tent that has good airflow because it’s super hot, but I also get rain. Lastly I get crazy bugs because it’s tropical so I can’t be getting out of the tent in the middle of the night and putting on a rain fly. Idk this seems like it should be a fairly common set of circumstances to me. But basically no tents satisfy this. There’s one night cat tent pop up actually that has ventilation windows that close from the inside. That’s it though… one tent that does things that are almost necessary for camping in tropical weather
