Keratoconus is an eye disease that affects the structure of the cornea, resulting in loss of vision. Keratoconus may result in blurred vision, distorted vision, astigmatism, double vision, inability to see in dim light, nearsightedness, sensitivity to light or vision loss. Keratoconus affects approximately 54 people per 100,000 people per a study (Kennedy et al, Am J Ophthalmol 1986; 100:267-73).
