You’ve got quite the Harem there Justin. Very nice instruments. I was surprised you didn’t have a Fender Stratocaster in your favorite six. I reckon that you’re a session player. How do you get by without having a Strat on your six? That left me scratching my head and wondering. Briefly my guitar boat includes a Strat, a Tele, a Les Paul, an SG, a 335 and a Jackson Soloist.

Tele sounds great! Twangs and sound like it could rock too (i.e. were you to play in a more straight ahead classic rock style without the chicken pickin and rolls, it would sound great for that.) I bought a guitar recently that has a Music City bridge, with some hesitation. The guitar was a limited run (pro) but I was curious how well the bridge would intonate since there are not individual saddles(potential con). Turns out it is quite resonant and intonate well, although you do have to be careful about how new strings are sitting...the string has to be 'straight' or it won't intonate properly. Sometimes you need to wiggle them a bit.

I believe the embossed pickups were 1972 only...
@justinmeyersguitarist
@justinmeyersguitarist Жыл бұрын
Yeah 72 only. That’s what’s interesting with that Les Paul custom, the pots are dated to late 71, has the dot on the i, but doesn’t have Gibson logo embossed pickup covers. The covers look to have never been removed. So I believe it was made in 71 but maybe finished in 72 early enough to not get the pickup covers.

Thanks! I like 60s-72 era guitars better. Better craftsmanship better sounding. Better in every way. I don’t really like new guitars honestly! When you play a 60s Gibson, and you compare that to a reissue, you’ll never want to play a reissue lol!
