Just to be clear, the class was not free. However, because your dad really wants you to be successful in beekeeping, and he has tried and tried to show you all he knows with only minimal signs of improvement, he paid me to give you the lessons. Hopefully with what you took away from the class you will be able to put it into practice when you go into the field. Also, you can tell your dad that follow up classes are at a reduced rate of 25% for the next 2 classes, but after that, it's full price. After watching video again about making splits with a double screen board, I’m gonna try this next year. Would it be a problem to use treated plywood? I’m going to paint also?

You are going to love how easy it is to make a split using the doubled screen dividing board. In my opinion, there is no need to used treated plywood in the building of the screen as the board is not left in place for that long a period of time. Plus, even though it is painted, why expose the bees to the chemicals of the preservative? Why don't you spray the honey bandit on a piece of card, and put that in the space.
