Yo this is pretty nice, I'm not in the market for moving but your videos about the different neighborhoods are really quiet good. I live in middletown but love to explore the state.

I came over from London a few times between 2002 and 2010, stayed at the Ramada near Journal Square. First time was to see the Loews Jersey Theatre. Another visit was to ride the NJ Transit River Line a few days after it opened. There seems to be quite a lot of new development since I was last there. It is rather strange, in a city like London of Paris the city grows on both sides of a river. But Jersey City, just over the Hudson from NYC, is not just a different city, but a different state.

As a former resident of Jersey City, I really appreciated the detail put into the video and the variety of fantastic restaurants and stores you mentioned. However, I do believe that it is a crime against humanity that you didn’t mention Taqueria Downtown. It is the BEST authentic Mexican food in New Jersey, on par with Mexican food you can get in Mexico itself. I’ve tried Orale before, and just like every other Mexican restaurant, they drown everything with cheese and goop-not real Mexican food! Anyway, thanks for mentioning Choc-au-Pain and Razza-great food for both.

I do something called “grocery shopping” which allows me to cook at home. If I’m not interested in gaining 30 lbs from eating at all of these places, are there any grocery stores around?
@Jeff-Suburbs-of-NYC10 ай бұрын
Of course lots of good grocery shopping. Depending on the neighborhood you have Shop Rite, Stop and Shop, Whole Foods, Key Food, and Acme, also bigger places like BJ’s and Target. Plenty of smaller places here and there as well. Thanks for watching and pointing out my missing info. Are you thinking about moving to the area?

My mom grew up in the Heights and my dad grew up in Greenville. Greenville was a nicer neighborhood when my dad grew up in the 1940s/1950s. It got pretty sketchy by the time my grandmother sold her house on Pamrapo Ave in 1990 (it got broken into twice).

Overall, Hudson county is more like the 6th borough of NYC. You can take it further and say North Jersey is the 6th borough lol. I'm a J.C native. Any of the towns in Hudson county are over convenient and super condensed. It's sad how the towns seem to cater more to New York more then it's natives.

Do you know the range for 2bdroom condo to buy in the "Capital and Marina" area ?
@Jeff-Suburbs-of-NYC Жыл бұрын
Hi Ihor, 2 Bedrooms near the marina's close to the Morris Basin Canal, have sold between $810,000 and $975,000. They all had 2 baths. In terms of the Capital Area, what do you mean? Closer to Exchange Place? Feel free to reach out directly so we can discuss in further detail. Thanks, Jeff

Jersey city is a beautiful town. I go every weekend and enjoy the nightlife. They are building up journal square as well. Soon it will look like downtown. There’s a reason why so many NY’ers are crossing the Hudson 😎

I like Taqueria on grove st. They have the best tacos on the east coast. I enjoy going to one exchange place (rooftop). They have have beautiful views of the JC and NY skyline. I also enjoy Ashford located in down JC. Perfect place to bring a date or meet people. It’s vinbrant and the vibe is cool. There’s so many awesome spots that JC has to offer.

It’s actually an insult to call Jersey City the 6th Borough, though it’s a fair point. Way too much has taken place and it’s become NYC and not in a good way. Can’t blame the many, many longtime residents that left
@Jeff-Suburbs-of-NYC Жыл бұрын
To be fair I did, put a "?" but honestly, the entire NYC metro area (which spans from parts of CT in the east to parts of PA in the west) is an economic behemoth all stemming from the central business district that is Manhattan and parts of the Outer Boroughs. To say that Jersey City is thriving on account of NYC's lack of housing options and expensive commercial office space seems like a good thing for JC / NJ overall. So seems like a positive thing to be included as a "Borough."

No, don’t come to Jersey City because it’s close to New York. The city has been hyper-gentrified and economically segregated by a partnership of steven fulop, the planning board and developers. This is just more gentrifier propaganda for realtors and developers.
