Living here for 30 years. 1- La Jolla, 2- Del Mar, 3 - Rancho Santa Fé if you don't mind going away from the coast and far behind 4- some parts of Leucadia/Solana beach.

FYI - The Yellow Deli is legitimately a cult run by "the twelve tribes" and they use the deli to recruit people. Recommend you avoid that place going forward 😂

Average price of a house in the city of San Diego is around $1million+ dollars or more, obviously depends on which neighborhood, I'm no realtor. Average rental prices are around $2,000. - $3,000. per month for your own apt, or more, unless you want to live with strangers/roommates, which that price is right around $1,800 for just a ROOM to rent. San Diego is an almost impossibility for most lower to middle-class folks in the city. In the east county (La Mesa, Lemon Grove, El Cajon, Alpine, etc.) you will find apts for about $1,000 per month. Do your own research.

Hello Nick! I just found you on KZbin after I relocated to San Diego. Do you have any video-taking about affordable housing or job-related issues? I fell in love with San Diego 15 years ago. Until I decided to move there and start a new one. However, I'm just moving on with My car and personal items. No job either. But I'm not worried because I'm a hustler. Look forward to hearing from you. Have a nice day!🙂

Explain why in your other video to avoid living in San Marcos, Vista, and Carmel Valley?
@lifeinsandiego8 ай бұрын
I mention the negatives about those areas in that video. Each area has its own positives and negatives which we explain in basically all videos we make

No Chula Vista???

The key is to focus on places with no homeless camps. Cross off downtown for this reason

If SD is so expensive and reserved for rich folks only, how people with retail, restaurant, beauty industry, education jobs live there? Where?
@eddyherrera32073 ай бұрын
They live like peasants in a studio or efficiency.

Many live in Tijuana and commute from there, to be honest.

These places are not really San Diego. They are north San Diego country
@user-xd1ze4jf6eКүн бұрын
South Bay / south county is more SD (South SD is literally west of Chula Vista). If you’re north of La Jolla, you’re not San Diego

You are right South of the Freeway Eight is awful specially Eastlake Chula Vista, lots of crime, old city, poor infrastructure, homeless camps, section eight, definitely stay away.

I love the older homes, apartments, condos and wish they wouldn't "upgrade". Can't stand today's styles and buildings - just plain awful and boring, depressing, square, boxy, ugly with no workmanship or culture or creativity or detailing. Grey only belongs on battleships. Black is stupid in a hot sunny climate. Bright, cheerful colors are best. Every place you look at has the horrible "upgrading" which ruins it and jacks up the price. I chose my place cause it wasn't upgraded and had all the features I wanted and NEEDED. Price was less too. 50s - 80s were best. Everything started going downhill in the 90s. This new stuff has totally ruined whole neighborhoods. So sad.

I agree, I dig the older neighborhoods/homes a bit more. It adds a lot more character and charm
@Drpeppehr6 ай бұрын
big disagree, some of the old grandma carpeted apartments and condos that reek of cigarettes or the oldschool grand theft auto looking buildings get old after awhile. Sometimes having a newer building with amenities and high ceilings is actually way more worth the $2500 rather than paying for old grandma homes

Savvy home shoppers pay attention to builders and build years. If I want good 'bones' ( structure lumber, electrical, plumbing & sewer) I'm looking at builds late forties before prefabricated house building became big. Nothing earlier than the 1920s as all the bones probably need a major upgrade and anything designated historical? Run! Recently building companies nationwide have been identified with shoddy design, buried bad soil engineering reports, much less quality materials. Imagine your brand-new recently built home falling apart to the point you have to move out for your safety. Shop wisely & thanks Nick for helping us through💁🏼♀️
