I think Hansi Flick deserves a mention for being the assistant of Löw from 2006 to 2014 and reaching at least the semi final in each big tournament

Wow! I saw this suggestion in a previous video and was struck by how intangible the concept was. Fair play for deciding to tackle it. No time to watch it now but, jayney, fair play, lad. Look forward to watching in a few hours. Yer some fella, Alfie.

Without yet having watched, I will guess that Joe or Jane Public will often consider a successful assistant coach; to be one who is very "visible"... alongside the manager at a then-currently successful club, who will be often seen staring down at a printed page wielding a furrowed brow. And might sometimes stand up. But I know you have something more up your Christmas stocking.

I met Sammy Lee at the Liverpool team's hotel years ago, when they were in London to play Spurs. He knew my sister and came over to say hello. After a few pleasantries were exchanged, he patted my belly as he went to leave. I said "I am so sorry Mr. Lee. That is my unlucky belly, and your team will now lose today". He laughed and walked off. Spurs won 4-0 that day. I have wondered, every now and then, if he thought about it as the goals kept going in.

Steve McClaren deserved some mention IMO. I know he's a bit of a punchline because of England but he was assistant to Jim Smith at Derby where they finished top half 3 consecutive seasons, and when he left they were relegation battlers for the next 3 years. Plus him filling in for Brian Kidd at United where he helped them to their greatest ever season.

Nice to see Kiddo, one man that unites the city of Manchester. He scored for City in the first match I ever saw, I remember asking my dad why wasn't he playing for England.... then a while later I found out he'd played at United before City I was heartbroken!!! It was great he came back to City under Mancini and had success until his retirement, I think he was more of a coach than an assistant manager at City tbh, but that's me splitting hairs. Top man. Excellent video 📹

How could you not put Pako Ayesterán in there? Assisting Rafa Benítez at Valencia, the Che won their first Liga in 31 years, and two years later another LaLiga title and a UEFA cup. Benítez brought him to Liverpool where they won the Champions League and then almost won it again. However, once Benítez and Pako had a falling out, Benítez went downhill and was never the same coach. Pako wasn’t a good manager when he went solo but he’s now with Unai Emery, doing not too badly.

the other night, the news saints of Oswestry and Llansantffraid FC Put Up a great fight against Greek giants panathanaikos in the Europa conference. the final score was 2-0 but I think TNS were unfortunate not to get an equaliser when the score was 0-0. but despite the Welsh champions giving a good account of themselves in a European competition this season, the Welsh league is still ignored, ridiculed and not taken seriously. it would really be fantastic if you made a video about the history of the Cymru premier and why it's in the situation it's in as it would bring some much needed attention to the league.
