Part 2 - • The 7 Habits of Highly...
The 7 habits of highly effective people summary:
This book, the 7 habits of highly effective people by Stephen Covey, has touched millions of people's lives - it's one of, if not THE, most well know success books out there. There are literally 1000's of success books out there, so why should this one be any different? Stephen Covey researched the last 200 years of success literature and found something interesting.. In the last 50 years, most of the books have been focused on the personality ethic - Things like public image, how you dress, how you perform in social interactions, positive mental attitude, skills and techniques to get people to behave in certain ways. These books focus on how to appear rather than how to actually be.
The 7 habits of highly effective people takes an inside out approach - it focuses on the character ethic rather than the personality ethic.
1 - be proactive
2 - begin with the end in mind
3 - put first things first
4 - think win win
5 - seek first to understand then to be understood
6 - synergy
7 - sharpen the saw

Reading books has really skyrocket the way I think about investing. Indeed, no one has ever got rich by saving money. If you want to become financially free, You need to Invest. I've come to realize that the key to amassing wealth lies in making sound investments

Adrian Morales I can only control my self accountability. Whatever principle(s) I choose to have it is up to me to follow them. I can’t control if others agree with my principles. I can’t control them. The best I can do is follow the golden rule. Thank you.

The third habit is actually a lot more about looking at the broader picture. Don't plan daily but weekly. Deviating from your schedule to do something that aligns with your values and virtues isn't something you should feel guilty about. Think efficiency with things and effectiveness with people. Delegate with trust. Trust is the highest form of human motivation.

Can't agree more with the importance of practicing meditation. It really helps me to let go of negative emotions. I used to spend significant time being frustrated/angry with other people. Now instead of being reactive, I will recognize these emotions as they arise and just dive through them. Lifesaver! I would like to say that the 7 habits make you effective and the meditation practices bring equanimity in your life :)

That is so true! If I had known I was going to lose my Mom like I did, I would have spent more time with her and doing things with her. I wouldn't have worked so much like I did! You always think you have more time but you honestly never know! You never know what is coming down the pipeline. Hopefully, my family will be able to all get together later on this year! Work is important but it is not the end all be all! Make memories one day at a time!

Remember, the reward of watching these quick summaries of books does not even come close to actually putting time and effort into reading them. You may hear what the narrator is saying and think "oh, this makes sense", but you'll soon forget about it as you flood your brain with more information from different sources. The only way to fully grasp the ideas, is to concentrate, and actually read to book

Exactly! If you change yourself and become stronger in what he calls, "Character Ethic," then success and being "Highly Effective," just becomes natural instead of you having to depend on remembering one-liners, trying to act like a certain person, or worrying about how people view you.

Hi there!! I am very impressed with your visual demonstration of these concepts. Could you point me in the direction of how you accomplished this art work/illustration process? My husband is an educator and we are looking for an artist or the software that would do something very similar to what you've got here. It's very attractive and clear. Great for teaching important content!

This was so awesome!!! I'm reading this book for the second time now. Read it in High school but didn't understand it much then 10 years later I'm reading it again and it's changing my life 1 habit at a time 🙌🏾

I have heard of these habits before but never explained so easily as you have! Well done!!👏👏👏 You helped break it down so I can understand and actually apply these habits as soon as today! Thank you!! Oh and great job on the drawing! I'm a visual learner and this really does help! Thank you so much! Oh! And I love your drawings of cats! 😺

I want to make you a question about this, is it really important read or listen the whole book? Or it depends maybe when we read or listen to audiobook I don't retain most of the things so in that case sometime is better the summary?
