"The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People" is a self-help book written by Stephen R. Covey, first published in 1989. It has become a classic in the genre, selling millions of copies worldwide and inspiring countless individuals to transform their lives.
The book presents a holistic, integrated, principle-centered approach for solving personal and professional problems. Covey introduces seven habits, which are not quick fixes but paradigms of effectiveness based on timeless principles. These habits are divided into three sections:
Dependence to Independence: The first three habits focus on self-mastery and moving from dependence to independence.
Independence to Interdependence: The next three habits address developing effective relationships and moving from independence to interdependence.
Continual Improvement: The final habit emphasizes continuous growth and renewal in all four dimensions of human nature: physical, spiritual, mental, and social/emotional.
Stephen R. Covey was an American educator, author, businessman, and keynote speaker. He was a professor at the Jon M. Huntsman School of Business at Utah State University and co-founder of FranklinCovey, a global company specializing in performance improvement. Covey's work has had a profound impact on individuals and organizations around the world, helping them achieve greater effectiveness and fulfillment in their lives.
