Mike Greenberg is joined by Tim Legler, Alan Hahn and Monica McNutt to react to the Philadelphia 76ers squeaking past the Miami Heat, 105-104, to advance as the No. 7 seed for a first round matchup against the New York Knicks. Then, the crew touch on the Chicago Bulls' ability to pull of the upset over the sliding Heat.

He wasn't sensational overall, but he stepped up big in the 4th. The block by Batum and the backcourt violation were costly, though.

@@urbaindelva7869 he should’ve after 5 TO, blown coverages that led to 3’s, and just boneheaded decisions. That equates to nothing. Look at how many shots he shot and made. Please

Those boos were earned. Philly boos ain’t like everyone’s boos. There’s levels to it. Those were effort boos. Gave up 2 3s before half.

Low key if I were playing I would prefer the boos, most fa bases would just get real quiet and suck the life out of the arena, one thing about Philly for better or worse there gonna keep that energy up win or loss for better or worse

Batum is a star in France. He had plenty of games like that playing for French national team over the past decade. He was pretty great for Blazers as well playing alongside Aldridge and young Dame.

Batum was the MVP for Philly tonight. I see Embiid getting a lot of hate for his bad shooting, but both teams shot very poorly for most of the game. Not to mention that Embiid made some crucial plays down the stretch while grabbing 15 boards and taking care of the ball against Miami's pressure. Herro was huge in the 4th, but that block by Batum and the backcourt violation were costly.
@jasongts

And both mistakes by Herro were caused by Batum. I’ve never seen something like this from The Frenchman. Monster game from him!

Its wild that for years, the Sixers have played 4 on 5 with Simmons and bad coaching, media screaming Sixers need good role players and a bench to take the high work load off of Embiid’s triple and quadruple teams, now the roster is in tact, and thats a problem. Anything to create a bogus narrative.

You can't make this up... Jimmy Butler and the Miami Heat lost to a breakout Nicolas Batum performance. Without him, the Philadelphia 76ers may have never made their 14-point comeback.

Batum didn’t “bail” them out he did what he’s supposed to do and hit open 3s. When a guy does his job now he’s bailing his team out? When the shooters are bricking wide open 3s it’s on the stars shoulders??? Come on Legs you’re better than that. If anything Jimmy Butler getting hurt and standing in the corner most of the game played a bigger part

Being a reliable shooter and hitting 6 threes in a 1 point win are different things, and both things can be true that Batum “did his job” and “bailed them out”.

@@HopefulNihilistactually no it’s not. When it comes to playoff basketball, coach is extremely important for success. Spol will still make it very difficult for Boston with his zones. Billy is going to get outcoached by Mazzulla and get swept. Even without Butler, I am confident Miami can take at least 2 games. Chicago will be lucky to win even one against Boston.
