Ethan, I had to go back and start watching videos of yours from before college. I love the 77's also, I am about to pull the trigger on a 49 narrow front. My summer "vacation" was going to my Aunt and Uncles and run the 77 they had on the baler. They farmed with Farmalls but had the 77 for on the feeder wagon. We had Olivers and I ran the baler for Dad when he was layed up. Great video man.

Our 77 is a 1950 and it still has the stripe down the frame. It's got M&W flat top pistons in it, the head has been ported and polished, and it has a bigger carb on it. It is dynoed at 50 horse.

Good story! I love knowing the history on a piece of equipment. That first tractor to most people is very special especially at a small age. I enjoy your tractor history videos.

Nice looking tractor and great story to go along with it. I have a similar story with that of my Gleaner E combine. The guy thought I wasn't able to get it running, and sold it to me cheap. But I weren't about to let the combine beat me out of $700. Haha

I learned to drive on my uncle's 1961 880 gas. It was the first tractor I drove by myself and drove down the road by myself. It hardly ever gets used anymore unless we take it to the fair or our local tractor show.

These stories always captivate me. Been wonderin when you'd do a story on this. It's the same with me on the 1850, if I sit on it it's like... like... a home away from home, and it just feels right. That 1850 that I have, there's a photo of me siting on ti when I was 3 months old, when dad was pullin a 10 foot IH disk.

My cousin and I painted a few Oliver's years ago we weren't by no means professional but we tried to do it rite. Not give them what we call a "DuPont overhaul" I guess that is what you had with your 1955 lol
@jefferytrice91809 жыл бұрын
I have a 1949 77 and when I painted it I have the stripe down the frame and also that center raised part on hood is also yellow. I think that is correct?
@Oliver66FarmBoy9 жыл бұрын
+JEFFERY TRICE Yea, the frame stripe and hood stripe were both discontinued at the same time sometime in early to mid 1950 so a 49 should still have them.

+Massey1105driver The 7X line went 1935 70, 1948 77, 1954 Super 77, 1958 770. The 770's werent quite double the horse.
