Many might need this tip : regardless which app you choose, If you don’t actively try to explain , break it down , recombine and synthesise out other means of using the information, All the apps will be wasted money For quick dumping and sum up yes, these are great but if it’s not properly handled for learning you will be head banging on the wall

Yes, and by doing that, I think it is required to force yourself to answer a bunch of questions such as how can you use it, can you explain this with something you knew, can this explain something you knew, can you think of something similar and can you compare them, can you think of something new by combining this with others ideas?

Like most of these since their very visual. Something that came out from google thats pretty good is notebookLM. You can upload your own sources, ask questions or ask the Ai to make questions for you and then it will return answers with citations which you can click to see where it got the answer from.

Excellent video Shu. I have a question for you, what is the difference between Heptabase and traverse? Which is the advantage of one versus the other. I want to learn languages, I already have Heptabase fro deep thinking and planning. So Traverse will add something unique, or it is only flashcards? Thanks a lot for your recommendation of which one will you choose,

Wow, just pretty amazing what AI is capable of and people got their head around to create something helpful. Thanks for the video. I totally love doaceo so that example in particular blew me away 😅 Just one thing: English is not my mother tongue and i have to admit i was missing some words because of your accent.

AI is making people more and more lazy. Acutal processing happens in the brain & with own words on a topic , not with tools . Create mind maps by your own which will help you to retain the info more better.

I dont disagree that people use AI in a way that actuallt hinders learning, but I dont agree this is a case of that. While making it yourself, struggling through it, does help, I find that things are forgotten regardless of it. What you need is both connections between the topic and real life applications of it, and notes that are actually reviewable (provide enough context to be understandable but not so much that looking up in other places is eassier)

@@mitumial 👌Very Well said . Appreciate such logical and knowledgeable comment. I will share my experience as well. I tried different AI tools for more than a year & experimented with it and found how to best use AI . Unfortunately most people use AI in a wrong way. Below is how i use AI for my study : --------------------------------------------------------- AI is very helpful for priming of topic before any lectures or study topic. So we have a rough idea about the topic and make connections when we are studying or listening to a lecture. AI is very helpful for creating flashcards saving our time. AI is also very helpful when studying a complex topic , which we dont understand it gives us best examples to make understand better. Below is completely misusing AI by most students : ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- People have become so lazy that they completely depend on AI notes . Even for creating notes of -> mindmaps / Summary they are completely depending on AI . Where is the learning happening inside brain ? Completely depending on machine generated summary. Students after learning a chapter or subject needs to write a summary in their own words which helps them understand better. Unfortunately most students are totally dependent on AI summary, AI mindmaps . Many students are getting lost in using more and more AI tools rather than focusing on understanding a topic using their own brain.

@@RameshKumar-ng3nf Thanks for the tips! I havent explored a lot of uses for AI (I tend to just use it as a last resort, since I feel it conflicts with my purposes in many cases), and those sound like great uses. As for the bad uses, I've had the misfortune of seeing much worse uses. Asking for solutions instead of tools to find said solutions themselves. That being said, I think it depends on the person generating the mindmap. I dont imagine myself using it and just leaving it as it is, but more like trying to learn from the way the AI forms connections, trying to see if I can apply those principles to other topics. Id also refine the summaries and connections being made (in my experience with AI, I like the subtopics/separation of subjects suggested, but the summary itself its not up to my standards). Id also tweak my prompts to try new ways of connecting things in a quick way (like color coding according to different conditions, and seeing what works best). Like. Use of AI dont have to be passive. And I wouldnt see the use of it like that. I want to use my knowledge of the subject to create something that makes sense for ME. The AI is just there to help come up with ideas, provide some info I might miss, and automatize the visual parts.
