"Almost All-Stars"...or borderline all-stars. These NBA players have the talent and skills to make the All-Star team, but they still have not. Whether it's due to the lack of team success or simply being outclassed by their peers - there's a variety of reasons why they haven't made it. Some have been waiting a long time too. Hope you enjoy!
I make all kinds of NBA videos which include analysis, player stories, countdowns, and mysteries. Make sure to leave a like and subscribe if you enjoyed this video!

Basically a lot of eastern conference players since there were years they just had to put 12: Jameer Nelson, Devin Harris, Kyle Korver, Jeff Teague. 10:13 Thank you for pointing that out! It's easy to say who was snubbed, but can they say who shouldn't had made it? I doubt that majority of the people saying that a certain player was snubbed can even say who shouldn't had been selected. I also believe Lou Williams' sixth man role has a lot to do with why he's never been named an all star. Manu Ginobili could've been selected more than twice if had a been a starter. Lamar Odom definitely should've been an all star at least once, but being a sixth man later in his career made it difficult.

I agree with your list and appreciate the fact that you didn't try to make it sound like it was unfair to them. Honestly, I don't think I would have selected any of these players as an all-star any year they could have. Maybe CJ once. He's clearly the most deserving of the bunch, and either him or Fox or should make it next year. It was basically the same with Mike Conley. No coincidence all these "almost all-stars" were/are Western conference guards. You had CP3 the entire time, Kobe, Nash, Deron Williams, Tony Parker, Westbrook, Curry, Harden, Lillard, Klay and so on. Parker and Lillard "only" have 6 all-star selections each.

The All Star game is like the Oscars: it's nice to have one but it's not a measure of true worth or even greatness. The degree of difficulty and the length of productivity alone gets Lou Will into the Hall of Fame. Plus Lou is a great teammate and a cool dude. Tobias Harris is a rock solid cornerstone: professional, productive and efficient. He fits in wherever he gets in. Look at his real value: teams improve upon his arrival, and he brings back a lot when he is traded. I still believe that the Clips gave up too much and too soon: Lou, Trez, Pat and Tobias could have been champs playing for Doc.

What if the NBA all-star was just like the NHL all-star tournament where all-star caliber players from different divisions compete on the tournament bracket just like the playoffs and the last 2 remaining divisional all-star teams will represent the East and West Conference. It may be impossible but it might get more deserving all-star caliber players.

Lou Williams shouldve been the injury replacement in 2018, not Paul George. They were separated by like 2-3 games and Westbrook was already named to the team and a top 5 MVP candidate that year while Lou put up better numbers, shooting splits, all in less minutes and off the bench with a team that was given pretty much no chance as opposed to the "OKC Big 3" (that choked to a rookie in the playoffs to follow it up btw) and was the best player on his team that year too..... it was even more annoying that Jimmy Butler sat out the allstar game that year when he was questionable the day prior, when the game was literally in LA and Lou Williams couldve easily replaced him. Its a shame the league missed an opportunity to reward him on a spectacular season.

Western All-Star guard has been the most competitive spot in the all-star game since the 2000's. Even Lillard missed the all-star game twice averaging 25PPG and 27PPG *AND* the Blazers were a playoff team those seasons. Half the guys in this video are Western guards.

At the end, it's all about the names. Objectively, there's always be players who deserves to be named all-stars, but they won't be due to the spots and the ignorance of the fans, coaches and media of his work. In the best case, they should fix the vote selection and add 2 more spots, up to 30 spots. The fans choose the 10 starters, then the coaches the following 10, and the NBA players choose the last 10. It's time the players have their voice to choose, because they would choose wisely the last 10 because they have played agaisnt them. A player could see better how good is a player (better than a fan/ media who don't watch every game).
