I miss when tvland would take a day or weekend and show all of these Christmas shows from 70's, 80's during the holidays.

Those specials made by Rankin Bass (Rudolph, A Year Without a Santa Claus and Santa Claus Is Coming to Town) were made in stop motion animation. My favorite show, Married...with Children, had some good Christmas episodes. There was the one where Santa came down in a parachute and crashed in the Bundy's backyard, and then there was the two-part episode the next year titled "It's a Bundyful Life" which was their version of It's a Wonderful Life, with Sam Kinison playing Al's guardian angel. (And don't forget that Kelly played by Christina Applegate was smoking hot then.)

Yeah.... AL got electrocuted by faulty Xmas lights. Lol And Al See's the past present n future. The Future Peggy re married to a new d bag yuppy guy ( played by soon to be Jefferson) . I was actually depressed when that shie ended. Anyways.... Sigh

God bless all of you who grew up in America in the 80s. I feel TERRIBLE that kids today won't know what it's like to grow up in a homogeneous society with everyone celebrating Christmas, fantastic toys, no cell-phones, store decorations, and holiday tv specials. I wonder sometimes if it's just because I've gotten older, but I feel like a lot has changed besides myself. The spirit of Christmas just doesn't seem to be as strong nowadays.

I call kids/Gen Y-A the: Crooked neck Gen. Cuz everyone one of em's next is always bent down with chin on chest, texting away on their cells. It's fn stupid, I'll just stop n look around, n there's dozens of ppl with chains on chest The airport ..... !!!! LMAO. I'll sit at my terminal, n watch everyone walk by.

The ones I remember the most are the Married With Children episode where parachute Santa crashes in Al's backyard, so he plays Santa while the body is hauled off, and the Magnum PI episode where Magnum, TC, Rick, and Higgins are stranded on an island.

I really miss the anticipation involved with waiting for shows of the Christmas season. There didn't seem to be as many distractions and you just KNEW that everyone else was watching those same shows at the same time. It gave us all a commonality that's missing in the present today. Campfire television, where the whole family sat around the same television set. Those were the days.

In the very beginning, Christmas resembled Halloween in many aspects, from horror of the macabre to intense images such as Pagan creatures and stories of witches. So, murder is not too much of a stretch in terms of Christmas themes. :) Thanks for the video

Yup. I don't think Jesus would approve really. I mean, the origins is evil, but the purpose of it is of family n love So I guess the bad holiday was turned good.

You forgot “The great Santa Clause chase”. Remember when Boss Hogg hired a couple crooks to steal the Christmas trees the Duke boys were delivering so he could frame them, but the crooks double cross Boss Hogg and steal his money out of his safe, and the Duke boys have to get it back? And then at the end Boss Hogg shows up at the Duke farm on Christmas Eve, with a big ole’ fruit basket, and asks the Dukes if they could spare a little Christmas cheer?

While the 80s had the beat animated christmas specials, the pinnacle of live action christmas episodes was from the 90s. Walker Texas ranger had Hulk hogan change the lives of kids as a former convict through the power of christmas.

My all time favorite Sitcom Christmas Episode is from December 20, 1987 from the Second Season of Married With Children, You Better Watch Out. A mall Santa🎅 is supposed to parachute into the Lakeside Mall, which is a competing mall with New Market Mall where Al works and the Santa 🎅 gets blown off course and his parachute doesn't open and he splats down in the Bundy's backyard, and of course Al has to save the day for the neighborhood kids. And even when everything seems the most bleak Al even saves Christmas for the Bundy's too. 🌲🎅🙂👍👍👍

One thing i hate/d about cartoon xmas & Holiday Specials: the ppl don't age, yet the Simpsons had 32 Xmas's ! Lol South Park aged their character's twice now. So it's more realistic. I wish all toons would age their characters a lil. Family Guy: Meg was 15 when show started. Chris was like 16. But cuz the show wanted to sexualize Meg, they had to turn her 18. But Chris stated 16 I guess? Lol Not that most ppl notice or give to Fux , but i do!
