I think my favorite part about goofy powers in one piece is how it's a 50/50 split between characters who take their powers so seriously, and it's so important to them. Then there's ashura and hakuba, and neither Zoro nor Cavendish ever really seem surprised or confused about it 😂 they're just like "oh yeah that happens sometimes". Zoro kind of just brought out ashura, like he's been shadow boxing in front of the mirror for a week now and he's just been itching to let loose on a minority. 😂

I think that Kaido's 8th form would just be his regular self when he isn't experiencing a mood swing. The other 7 forms represent one of his moods, but none of those forms calm him down. He needs a form to use while he is calmed down, or else he would just be in one of the other 7 all the time.

So it would make sense that some of these powers are people who just literally manifested a power, either through will power and necessity like ramen guy or Zoro with Ashura, or they were born with a mutated gene like an xman. I've been thinking about this stuff a lot lately. Like it'd be one thing if it was relegated to early one piece or gag characters, but it keeps coming up over and over in various forms, even recently. Even things like Vegapunk's supergenius-ness outside of his devil fruit for example could kind of fall into this category. I truly do wonder if there is a "hidden 3rd power system" of "literal magic" that almost no one taps into in the series, or if they do it's for strange one-off applications or gag stuff, but it really does seem as though it's a real, actual thing where the people of this world can just... manifest raw powers if they want to badly enough. Like Haki is 'determination and ambition' and devil fruits are 'dreams', maybe magic is simply 'thoughts' becoming strong enough to manifest. Then again, what we might be witnessing here is the very first users of ALL NEW devil fruits that will manifest as fruits after they die... Like Nami is the perfect example: a tangerine-shaped DF that gives you weather control and prediction powers, after her lifetime of mastering weather control on top of her innate 'magic' of weather prediction...

Everytime Luffy uses his gatling attacks he's literally doing the exact same thing as Gilly, the attack is so fast multiple copies of it sprouts from the original attack. The difference is each of Luffy's are real attacks while Gilly's are after images of a presumed attack, and they're not actual attacks making them slower than Luffy's gatlings.

My theory is that Lao G's power roots from the same concept as Kumadoris (and Lucci) Seimei Kikan. Only Lao G used the ability to have full controll over his body for the storage and release of his strength, while Kumadori used the full control to utilize his hair. Elizabellos Power could also fit into this (somewhat)

Okay i get why Hasshoken wasnt on the list bc the entire Happou Navy learns this power, it kinda gets an honorable mention when you show the Corrida Colosseum fighters. Its such a weird ability tho, seemingly creating smaller Quakes/shockwaves with physicality or maybe…haki?

I’m thinking that potentially the king punch wouldn’t be enough to kill one of the yonko because in that panel it only made a massive hole in the wall of the fortress, it didn’t destroy the entire wall.

love that the series has powers that aren't just devil fruit or haki giving more nice mystery to the world/others their own power. still remember when i saw lao g was going to get a megahouse figurine. love to see elizabelo's king punch used to one shot blackbeard(wish the grand fleet went to wano seeing that used on big mom.) really love nami's power the most as weather especially at sea can be deadlier than an army at times & love the boost she got with zeus.(like she's becoming the one piece equivalent of sun wukong and be cute seeing her fly on/lounging & chilling on him in his storm cloud form.:3)

The key thing that I never see get brought up about Miss Goldenweek is that she can technically materialize clothes out of thin air to allow people to draw out their dreams. Also, imagine if the “Flag-Bearer of Freedom” returned to the story out of nowhere to assist “Joy Boy” in achieving his true dream.

My thoughts on Zoro's Ashura thingy were fuelled by the cartoon epilogue of Wano, wherein Luffy and Zoro use high level abilities to... eat fast. The way it's drawn answers the question very well for me, at least until I read or see anything better. Simply put, he's just moving so fast it appears he's in three overlapping places at once. So... that would immediately put him and kicky longlegs right off the list, since it would mean more than one person has that crazy speed ability. I suppose that's why fortune tellers like Sharly and Basil aren't included, since well... I just listed two of them and concepts of "fate" seem to be this long running theme that pops up now and then throughout the series. Just ask Dragon, who seems so convinced that fate will see everyone through that he's willing to just sit down and talk about fate except for that one time he showed up to interrupt fate with a clown executioner and a chain smoker going after his son.

Also, coudlnt help but say - there are no reasons to believe each of those powers are unique. The fact that we dont meet other people with them doesnt mean, that whey dont exist. Most of them are based on the some sort of training technique, so whey are obtainable by others anyway, if whey get to lay their hands on that.

the sickle weasel is a reference to Japanese folklore of the Kamaitachi, a yokai with a weasel like appearance either welding a sickle or have sickle like claws.

Something I would like to add to the part with Miss Goldenweek is that this version of Luffy probably had much lower willpower than the current version. Since he's faced loss, victory and conflict over and over again. Each time solidifying and honing his will. So to assume that it would work on Yonko's automatically because of an early series shenanigans is a bit hard to swallow. Also, this is just personal headcannon but I like to think that such unique abilities are new devilfruit powers in the making. So when Miss Goldenweek dies her will might be passed on in the form of a fruit somewhere.
