In 1972 a crack commando unit was sent to prison by a military court for a crime they didn't commit. These men promptly escaped from a maximum security stockade to the Los Angeles underground. Today, still wanted by the government, they survive as soldiers of fortune. If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them, maybe you can hire: the A-Team.

The A-Team remains one of my fave 1980s TV series. Its said that the series was created specifically for Mr. T and he was paid $80,000.00 per episode. Col. John Hannibal Smith, Amy Allen, B. A. Baracus & Gen. Hunt Stockwell (from Season 5). Amy was definitely easier on the eyes than Tawnia Baker. Its arguable if Ms. Culea had 'bad blood' with George Peppard, as Stephen J. Cannell & Frank Lupo created the series and characters. Its said a reason Amy was eventually written off was that Melinda Culea wanted to be in more action oriented roles, given she's a reporter that would've been very difficult to do; a potential story might have been to have Amy kidnapped to draw out The A-Team to a showdown. Another one of Mike Post's memorable TV themes was for The Rockford Files. I still have the first A-Team novel and a the 3 issue Marvel Comics miniseries. A missed chance was to have The A-Team cross paths with G. I. Joe. As for the violence seen, it wasn't different from that seen in other shows like The Six Million Dollar Man; in that series, Lee Majors himself requested that the show be family oriented without any violence as well. Too bad The A-Team never crossed paths with MacGyver as well.

When I was a kid watching the show, Schultz, Benedict and Tero came to Netherlands for a promotional tour. Peppard refused to come along. Schultz was the spokesperson for the group, which I found odd. The funny guy being so serious. Later, on the many reruns of the show, I started to value the character of Murdock, and found out that Schultz was actually the best actor on the show, making Murdock a very versatile character with the most qualities and charactertraits of any of the cast.

I'm always wary of big screen remakes of shows, with very good reason. However, I think the movie was fantastic. The casting choices were phenomenal. Neeson just seemed to channel Peppard, and Cooper was perfect as Face. Let's not forget that it gave us one of the most recognizable movie quotes; "No, they're trying to fly that tank" A fun scene, which, when later analyzed by experts, turned out to be completely plausible. ...and it was a VERY A-Team thing to do.

A lot of the animosity between Peppard and T was because the A-Team was created *as* a vehicle for Mr T, following his breakout role in Rocky 3. Mr T's star was in the ascendency, while Peppard's was waning.

Disappointed that a second movie wasn't made. I really was against it when I heard of it. But when I saw it, it was brilliant. Three out of the four castings were spot on and two of them were stand out, the fourth was near enough. As for the original series, no one gets hurt? I remember an episode were B.A gets injured and another when Murdoch also is injured. I believe both were shot.

Like the first time they came to the Netherlands they could just not understand how much people came to just see them walking of the aircraft. That must have been in the 90s as that was when they started to be aired here and they are quite often rerun with stil people enjoying them.
