i know this area well , past it countless times going to watch the motorbike races on the old East Fortune air field run way . Part of my Mums early nursing training ( 1960.s) was carried out here ..

Brilliant work Droneman and Dronegirl. My dad was in East Fortune for 2 years with tuberculosis of the spine. My father-in-law was in there as well, he had tuberculosis in the lungs he caught it in Thailand during the war. He was a prisoner of the Japanese. He was one of many who was forced to work on the Thai, Burma railway, bridge over the river kwai. Hey it was great meeting you and Dronegirl when I was in Scotland and thanks for the keyrings I no longer have to tell my friends to go hunting for them any more. Keep up the great work. Was at the museum a few years back didn’t even know the Hospital was there.

The hospital buildings were as much a part of the airfields as the museum buildings. Been a while since I have been to the museum, but there used to be a large aerial photograph of the whole site. Thanks for your comment. 👍
