This is the way I fine tune my presets with the band I'm playing. I've been doing this for the last 2 years and I have to say that it's a great feature. I don't remember if you mentioned that at the past, but 90% of my knowledge at Helix, comes from your videos. I actually got the Helix (instead of an other modeler) because of you. Love your approach to sound and your playing. (Playing your songs on Spotify) Ones again finding the opportunity to say again, thank you for all this hard work you putting out there.

"Was this useful?" HA! Everything you share about the Helix I find useful. Sometimes I'm aware of features but haven't taken the time to figure out the best/ most efficient way to use them or I'm confused about something and all I have to do is track down a video you've done and presto, I learn fast. Thank you Jason. I have definitely learned and make best use of my Helix because of you.

Had the Helix 3 years or so. Love it, but really haven’t utilized as many of the features as I should-could. This is a great example. I use the Helix live all the time. This will make it SO much better, thank you.

Hands down, one of the most useful videos you’ve made (and you make a LOT of REALLY GOOD videos!). I’ve had the Helix Floor for years and almost didn’t know this existed! I make my own Presets, and it can be tedious, going back and forth between making adjustments and then playing to see how it sounds. Making changes while playing will dramatically speed up the process and make it more enjoyable. Also great for fine tuning once I get to church & need to make last minute tweaks!

Maybe the coolest thing for me about seeing this is realizing there's another save option on the Helix itself, my save button on my backup unit stopped working a couple of years ago, so this is a very pleasant surprise and a lesson to keep learning everything you can about your gear, as well. Thanks once again Jason.

Thats such a cool feature. Gonna try it today, not convinced yet it will be as straightforward on an LT. Can't wait to try, cheers Jase!

I never knew you could use the expression pedal! I am definitely going to be using this for dialing in a tone from now on. Just makes it so much easier to adjust settings and hear how it effects the sound. One thing that really bugs me about editing on the actual device is the rate of change is not normalized. So for eg, if you are adjusting freq on an eq, and it's at 980Hz. Every turn of the knob moves it 1Hz. But onces you get to 1.0kHz, every turn on the knob moves it 100Hz. So for settings with really large numbers, it takes forever to adjust.

Thanks for another great video Jason! I’ve known about this feature since I bought my helix but never used it because silly, close-minded me thought it was only for tweaking live. Never thought of using this instead of HX edit to tweak while playing in my practice room or home studio! Definitely going to give this a try so I can become more familiar with the process. Thanks for the great idea!

Hey, Jason! Great video as always. So you've convinced me to try this again by explaining in such detail. Unfortunately, my LT doesn't have the nice instructions on the scribble strips, so I'm taking it on faith that FS12 will save my settings. Question: my biggest issue overall is volume leveling. I always save my presets with the output block selected so I can do quick adjustments at rehearsals. Last night I was disappointed to find that using the pedal to adjust just goes way too fast to be practical, and the +/- is painfully slow... do you know of any workaround for this?

I don’t have my Helix in front of me but anyway, a quick question: I assume that any changes made would only be relevant to the specific snapshot being edited and not applied across the board to the other snapshots?

Hey Jason, could you make a video comparing preamps sims VS Amp sims in the Helix ? I know that a lot of us are using the Helix in front of a real poweramp and a cab, so it would be very interesting for a lot of us to hear what you have to say about that : preamp VS full amp in the Helix, going into a real poweramp + cab, what is the best ?

Can you make a video with a live band how you dial in the presets in a mix, cause that's my struggle. I made a preset i think is good but if i turned it up it sat ON the mix if i turned it down it disappeared out of the mix, this is what we really all wanna know.
@NedJeffery2 жыл бұрын
I've done a bit of mixing in the past. The secret to getting lots of instruments blending well together is thinking about frequency domains. You don't want 2 instruments trying to compete over the same frequency. So if the high of the bass is prominent at 2.5k, you want to guitar to be prominent at 1k so you can hear them both clearly and separately. Or for example the acoustic fills in around 300Hz, the electric at around 200Hz, and the bass at 100Hz.
