@@mindinversions4487 it does I believe. Mine is a 2015 gen 1. I paid the same price as Mike so I don’t think the price changes for the different generations. I can tell you mine took 2 full days and the whole rear under panel has to come off too. It seems a lot for labor but it is what it is lol

@@carlstone880 Dealers can't stop you from getting maintenance done outside of a dealer. You just need to keep all receipts to show you did your oil changes on time in case they try to deny a warranty claim based on you not doing oil changes at a dealer.

Approx.50 fasteners to drop the panels required to get to everything underneath. Think your car has 7 drain plugs to remove the used oil. The oil filter is on top and fairly easy to get to. So it's not an easy car to work on for the most part.

LOL. That is literally easy stuff. Most of us have battery powered tools to remove those fasteners. That would take 5 minutes tops. Then the 7 drain plugs is easy. Will take maybe 45 minutes to drain all the plugs and put the plugs back on. Oil filter can be swapped while the oil is draining. This is an hour and a half job, from the start of putting the car on jackstands, to finish. Easy.

Read here in Sweden about a guy who owned a Lamborghini Huracán and he was shocked when the oil change cost 1000 $. So then it must cost the same amount to change the oil in the Audi R8, as they have the same engine.

The last time my Audi was at the dealership I was going to have the right rear strut support for the tailgate replaced on my Avant. For a charge of $140 for one. Fortunately they were out of the part. I purchased a set of two struts on Amazon for $22. Thanks to KZbin it was a simple repair. Found myself an independent shop, will never return to Audi, unless I have a new car that needs warranty work.

We had a job just north of Pittsburg and I had to run the Fort Pitt every day for 3 weeks, sometimes 2-3 times a day each way, with a 20' trailer, hated the traffic. East side of the tunnel was always fun trying to get on 279. Tunnel was fun though with the F150 5.0 straight piped.

Did you really need a alignment ? It's the number 1 Service Advisor "recommended" add on. Porsche oil service on a V6 Macan cost between 299.00 and 499.00 depending on Model, year, and Dealer location. I just recently performed my own oil and filter service on my 2020 Macan S. (The first one was free). I have serviced my own cars (Plus family and friends) for over 65 years, this oil service was by far the easiest and cleanest oil service I have ever performed. The filter sits on top of the engine, the now plugged off oil dipstick tube can be used to extract the oil (That's how the dealer did it). The clam shell hood along with the proximity of the "touch points made the entire job a breeze. So why does it cost so much? I used Porsche spec. Oil (8 Qts.) and a OEM Porsche Oil Filter. My total cost was 80.00 I did have to purchase a Icarsoft reset tool, and of course you need a large capacity Oil extractor. I have both but these are tools and you buy them only once. I can't imagine how they can bill that much (It certainly isn't for labor)

Audi Care is 100% worth it on new cat purchases. We just purchased 2022 Q5 Sportback S-Line Prestige yesterday, added Audi Care along with wheel + Tire coverage "we always get the nicest factory option wheels and keep them". The I between oil changes are definitely worth it also for the health of the vehicle. We only drive our 6 cars a total of about 7,500 miles a year combined so 5,000 mile or 6 months oil changes are the schedule we stick to.

I understand those who can afford vehicles like this R8, have the money to pay for simple services. They also might not have the time to work on their vehicles themselves, so I understand why they would pay for someone else to do the job. But man, $378 for labor is insane for an oil change! And the entire oil change came out to $477 total, which makes the oil, filter, plugs, and washers only cost $99! That is actually not that much for the materials. A simple YT search will show that an oil change on a V10 R8 does require more time, but its practically the same process as a normal vehicles oil change. It takes more time because there are several oil drainage areas compared to one area on a normal vehicle. Big whoop. Its a simple unscrewing of bolts and draining of oil. Not difficult at all. I would totally do this job myself if I owned one, and MAKE the time for it.

Gotta love those V10's. Dry sump oiling so they're draining from your scavenge lines and the lower sump. That engine has a lotttt of oil inside of it!
