The Acacia Strain don't need to be the most talented.They are the most aggressive band i've ever heard.No one can beat them in ferocity.The lyrics and atmosphere they create is amazing.I don't care if they don't play scales the whole time.When i'm pissed this is the best therapy.

DL self produced this entire album from start to finish at his home, from engineering to recording. With that being said it sounds better than a ton of other albums I have heard from other bands that go to huge recording studios to have it recorded. This is there best album.

you can go to drop F on an 8 string (Just like you can tune to a drop A variant where there are 3 As on an 8 string) but you need the proper strings for it (to tune to Drop F on an 8 string you'd drop the low from F# to F then bring the other 7 strings up a full step which you'd need lighter strings for)

The Acacia Strain isn't about super complex/technical song structures or groundbreaking lyrics. Their music is heavy as hell and pissed off and I can appreciate that for what it's worth. Music can be straightforward and not "clever" as well. This is coming from somebody who enjoys progressive/technical music as well.
@gerbman200412 жыл бұрын
This is some of TAS's most technical work right here. They have totally refined and progressed their sound. You saying this just shows you dont understand the progression of heavy music nowadays.

Agreed. If you don`t like a band like this you shouldnt be leaving comments about it. Bands like this put thier heart and soul into the music they play. I can understand people not liking it,but please don`t disrespect the band. They put the truth about life in general not necessarily the point of views that you see, but it`s things that happen, so please don`t down the band for their references of anger!

Stop arguing about the lack of technicality. As a Periphery, Meshuggah, and Monuments fan, I know I am supposed to hate this band. But TAS isn't about being the best. They are heavy for the fucking sake of heavy. If you get pissed at anything, you don't go looking for the most talented piece of work. You look for something to help you blow off every bit of your anger. That is The Acacia Strain. You guys will argue, but either way, I will bang my fucking head as I please to this masterpiece.

metallica bringing metal music to the mainstream is a good example of why we have metal today. Without that it could've been long forgotten. same with slayer. You can't expect for a music genre to be made up and be insanely popular the next day. it takes time and someone to actually do it and stick with it. by doing so, metallica has shown the passion they have for creating metal. so yes, they have done quite a lot for metal.

Great, so you named off three bands. Good job. I'm here because I stumbled on a review of this album which I quickly skimmed, and it saw it had good feedback. So I decided to check it out wondering if this band had moved on and started to write something other than breakdowns. Lo and behold; Nothing has changed. I wouldn't call those bands great. I'd describe them more as trend following cash cows.

They play in Drop A, Drop F, F standard and F# Standard. I dont think that you could go into Drop F on an 8 string beings that you would have to tune your strings half a step up from F# Standard and just adding the F, which makes them very likely to break. Maybe they have lighter strings on it? idk.

A lot of people say that this is easy to play, or there's no talent, or something, and yet there's a ridiculous lack of tabs for guitar or bass for any of their songs. I've been sitting trying to figure their tuning and their songs for a while, and while yes the breakdowns are easy, it's a pain to find everything else. It may not be Animals as Leaders, but it's got more attitude and character than most if not all music similar to this.

There is no way people can judge an entire an album on one listen to A song or TWO songs. You need to hear the ENTIRE album MULTIPLE times to truly see if you appreciate it. Don't just look at the label RISE and write them off. Also, don't read what other people are saying and try to fit in by not liking it. If these riffs get your head banging or air drumming make you want to mosh, then you do like it. And guess what, they have other albums if you don't like this one. See em live for old songs.
