The spinning you feel is not of the earth, it's all in your head.
The blue in the sky and green in the grass, unwillfully imagined.
Everything you know sparked by unbelievable coincidence.
Sub consciousness.
Never any consequence.
The twinkle of the stars you see is your mind wishing to believe the magic of nonsense.
We are dealt a hand and we act like there's a dealer.
You can't define life without speaking to the reaper.
Your belief that death is an option hinges on the fact that life is a reality.
We started the fight for survival and now we want to quit because we are losing.
And we cannot define life without always uttering death.
I wear a watch even though I don't believe in time.
The idea is false, just like the rest of the ones in your mind.
I don't fear death because I refuse to believe in life.
Genius of design.
Fooled by your own mind.
Size is infinite.
Reality is never explicit.
Simplicity so impossibly complicated.
Infinity too dauntingly sophisticated.
I am not real.

I always see people complain about the meshuggah influence on this album like it's a bad thing lol. Personally I think this is one of the best metal songs of the "-core" generation. Love that dissonant jazz break and those super awesome Contradictions Collapse-esque harmonized lead lines in it. Plus the odd syncopation is a really nice change from TAS's usual chunnn chunnn chunnn rhythm. Drums are also on fuckin point on this song, wayyy underrated drummer imo

I love the lyrics and the overall brutal and belittling feel this song gives you. In relation to death, time and the universe, us, as humans, are meaningless.

The Acacia Strain is fucking amazing, straight up rhythm and heavy, hard hitting breakdowns. Not as hardcore as they used to be, but they destroy shit as it is. Kevin Boutot is a straight monster and if you don't think he's good, I don't know whats wrong with you.

This portion of the lyrics is incredibly deep. Vincent is a genius. We are dealt a hand and we act like there's a dealer. You can't define life without speaking to the reaper. Your belief that death is an option hinges on the fact that life is a reality.

for anyone that cares...the comparison between EMMURE and TAS, is mostly due to the fight that Vincent and Frankie got into..so now the fans of each band have to have beef.. which is fuckin stupid. its about the feeling the music gives us.. not about the status, or how big a following...or playing Follow the Leader

It's amazing how bands get along better than the fans do. Redundant, over complacent, insulting bitching is all I usually ever see. Lots of us are guilty of doing so at least to some degree, but some of us a lot more than others.

It's too bad that so many people just argue about opinion and don't even talk about how awesome this song is. Everyone's opinion is valid, everyone can say what they want. I think Death Is the Only Mortal is my favorite album from them atm. It's definitely influenced by Meshuggah, but that's an awesome thing. Stop arguing and enjoy the music!
