Serious question: do we need to repent and with faith in Christ to receive salvation, or simply accept ourselves as we are? Or just receive God’s acceptance of us? My understanding of scripture has always been that we must repent, turn from our self sufficient sense of righteousness and confess faith in Christ and his atoning work on the cross to be saved and accepted by God, i.e for God to forgive our sin against him and turn his wrath away from us personally.
