Indara is basically treating Sol like a padawan she was remaking about. Letting him figure it out on his own instead of giving him the answer. Right up until the council made the call then she tried to end it but Sol and Torbin went rogue on their own desires.

I really like your point about how he’s a bit like QuiMir in his desire for a pupil. Also how he was trying to convince himself that the girls were in danger with not a lot odf evidence. It was like Andara said. Both he and Yorbin went rogue and acted on their selfish desires.

Torbin was igniting his lightsaber. Koril is getting ready to attack. I am guessing Aniseya is trying to magic Mae out of there, but Sol mistook her for Osha, and he wants to protect her (he has already build up the narrative in his head that these witches are a threat to the girls), so he reacts and kill Aniseya

Sol is carrying a ton of regret over what happened that night. I still think there is a little more to it than we've seen. Who or how did Mae survive that fire? Where does Qimir fit into all of this? Who is the real Sith working behind the scenes, that we haven't seen yet? There's another actor who was credited for this series, and we haven't seen him yet, nor has his character name been revealed. One episode left..... and I expect a banger of an episode. I'm loving this series, so if anyone wants to discuss it, I'm more than happy to. Just leave any hate at the door. Criticism is fine, hatred isn't welcome.

I can't blame Sol... Mei misunderstood and misspoke her mother's words about sacrifice. So it looked like she was destroying Mei (who Sol thought was Osha) and he struck to save the girl. Notice how he simply refuses to fight as he realized how terrible his mistake was. I think Torbin ran off because the messing with his head really over-powered his desire to return home. It was all miscommunications, misunderstandings messing up good intentions. This really is a quality show!

@sesskasays, Before tonight's episode, why not watch episodes 3 and 7 one more time on your own. You might come to a different conclusion than what you have now--you'll have a much clearer picture of what happened. Things to consider: 1) May didn't fully understand what Mother Aniseya said about becoming a witch, and as a result, Mae misquoted what she said and made it sound much worse than what Mother Aniseya told her. 2) Sol observed everything Mae and Osha did right up to Mother Aniseya separating the two from fighting. 3) both sets of parents (the witches & Jedi) didn't really ask the girls what they wanted; they both made choices for the girls. 4) Qimir corrected Osha about Sol's power in the Force; he told her that the power she spoke of was HER power in the Force. While you consider the points made up top, remember what Osha said when she explained why she was a Jedi--she failed; Osha couldn't use the Force the Jedi way (incidentally, she couldn't use the Thread the Witches' way either). Episode 3 and the flashback showed Osha practicing under the Bunta tree, but THIS TIME we have context! Osha was practicing outside the compound because she was made to feel less than Mae--Mother Koril reminded Osha how she expected more from her; Rane (a witch pleading with Mother Aniseya) pointed out that Osha had yet to understand the power she had--the whole coven was frustrated with Osha's inability to use her power. Osha had enormous pressure to step up and catch up to Mae's level of mastery. That's why she was outside practicing alone--isn't that why Osha snapped at Mae when she mimicked Osha's technique to perfection? The musical cues and Mae's focus made it look as though she was doing something sinister, and the way the rest of the story played out made us believe that Mae had dark tendencies, but episode 7 showed us that that wasn't the case at all. Mae was actually a very loving sister, who acted like a loving sibling who wanted nothing more than to be around her best friend and sister. When Mae took control of the flying creature, manipulating its flight in a way Osha couldn't, Osha had enough. She was tired of Mae showing her up, which is why, I think she, she asked her, "Why do you always have to do things like that." Osha wasn't talking about torturing animals, but about Mae joining in on what Osha's doing and doing it better! That pissed Osha off--keep in mind that this was Sol's first encounter with them. "Some call it a Force. And claim to use it. But we know that the Thread is not a power to you wield. Pull the Thread. Change everything. It ties you to your destiny (Mother Aniseya touches Mae's shoulder and makes eye contact). It binds you to others (Mother Aniseya holds Osha's chin in her hands as she speaks--she pauses and holds her gaze)." --Mother Aniseya to Mae and Osha...did she see the future? Osha and Mae continue to argue and begin shoving each other. Mother Aniseya chastises them both with a push through the Force. The moment is later interrupted by a noise off-screen, which we now know was Sol, Mother Aniseya dismisses the girls to their room, where their arguing continues. Osha draws the Jedi crest in her book, and Mae demands to see what's Osha's drawing, but of course Osha refuses to show her. How did Osha know what the Jedi crest looked like? Was Mother Aniseya's words coming to fruition? Did Osha pull the thread and bind herself to others, Sol inadvertently? Why did Qimir explain to Osha about the Dark Side and how to use it to connect to the Force? Is it a coincidence that 16 years ago, Osha's anger was gradually building? Osha didn't do anything nefarious, no, but her desire to get away from her sister and coven steadily grew. Did she force her will on her agent, Sol? Is that why he became a very different person after encountering the girls? We already know that the girls were being groomed to become the coven's leaders, and we already know that they can do what the other witches could. Mother Aniseya got in Torbin's mind, and the coven got in Kalnecca's. Did Osha get inside Sol's? Did she project her desire onto him? He knew what she wanted. He knew where she was? He could feel her through the Force, yet no one else could--not unlike what we were told in the last episode. I think Qimir's right. Sol didn't find Osha because he wanted to, but because Osha wanted him to. What's going to happen today? Mae has a better picture of what happened 16 years ago. She knows what she saw, but now she knows the Jedi's point of view. How is she going to process that? I don't think it'll be as bad as we might think. A lot of bad choices were made that day, and part of those choices were made based on Mae's poor interpretation of what Mother Aniseya told her. Osha, however, will likely recall what she heard while unconscious, and that worries me! That was a very one-sided story, that makes it clear that the Jedi screwed up, removing all blame from the witches. What is that information going to do to Osha? Will it push her towards Qimir and away from Sol? Will Mae and Osha end up fighting one another? Will one of them die, so that the two can become one? What then? They were always supposed to become one, that was always their destiny, as their mantra implied. I cannot wait to see how this ends =)

personally I see it as indication of how incredibly dangerous the Witches' mind control is - what defence can you have if all they need is something so trivial? Also, episode 4 showed that Kelnacca was still affected by that mind control (all the Witch symbols he was drawing) 16 years later - Torbin was likely still being influenced by them when he ran off and was justifiably scared that they had got into his mind so easily.

good reaction/review of the penultimate episode. i thought it was a very good episode and i'm anxiously awaiting the finale. i think we will see how May survived the fall (i think the sith lord was there and saved her) i think we see that the bald greenie jedi was the master of the sith lord and she marked his back with her lightsaber whip and lastly, i think/hope we see Osha turn to the dark side when she learns the truth (at least the truth told to her by the sith lord) if they give us all of that, i will call the series a success and hope i gets a second season because we still need to know more about the sith lord, we need to know what the witches did to create the twins and i'd like to see an episode that focuses on what all the jedi did after they initially went back to the council and show up with Osha and they tell their "lie" to them. see you next week.

Honestly...... even though I like him very much, he seemed like a little bit a a Karen in this episode, sticking his nose into other people's parenting. Its sort of an unfortunate facet of the Jedi. They know how bad a wild force user can be- the Sith came from them, after all- so they tend to hold all unfamiliar Force beliefs in at least some suspicion. Mae misquoting her mother about sacrifice didn't help either.

So they’re all at fall in their own ways. I thouught Anisiyah was trying to protect May from the Jedi. Though taking her somewhere else made sense too. Sol reacted, impulsively thinking that she was trying to hurt her. And his decision to save OSHA was a selfish one. But that’s the point. Both he and Torbin made mistakes and miscalculations and acted on their own individual desires, which made the situation worse. But Andara killing all of those witches, however unintentional didn’t help either. Nor did Kelnaka trying to kill everyone. So yeah, it was just a whole big mess.

Kelnaca got traumatized from being mind control by the witches. Which explains why he was trying to understand the witches power. His base was filled with the markings of the witches. Master Indara choose to cover up the truth of their involvement (Sol and Torbin's) She had to kill all the witches controlling Kelnaca. Sol literally caused everything even killed Mother Anaseya because he got spooked by her powers and killed her by instinct. It's like a cop killing someone who just reach for the keys on their pocket. Torbin was so sick of the mission that he was homesick and was willing to do everything to get back home. The thing that confuses me is we were told this series would blur the lines between good and bad; we would question whether the Jedi may be bad and the Sith may be good. But we aren't getting a backstory to Qimir in this series and it is very obvious in what we've seen that the Jedi are in fact acting in good faith, despite the huge mistake of Sol killing the mother and it's incredibly obvious that one of the witch mothers and at least half of the witches in their coven are the bad guys. I don't feel like any lines have been blurred here.
@IggyStardust1967
@IggyStardust1967 23 күн бұрын
Are they, though? It could be argued that that half of the witches are willing to defend their coven to the death, and aren't inherently "evil". Is it truly evil to do evil things if done for the right cause? This same subject came up in Andor, and Rogue One. Qimir, I think, will have more of his backstory revealed in the finale. At least, I hope so. His stock (in my eyes) went through the roof in episode 5. Also, much like Palpatine in the Prequels, he hasn't actually lied. But the Jedi have. We saw them twist the truth of this incident into a pretzel. I would say that that blurs the lines a bit.
@MajesticJoshua
@MajesticJoshua 23 күн бұрын
@@IggyStardust1967 I wouldn’t say it blurs the lines enough to question whether they are the good guys or bad guys. The witches were your classic Star Wars villains in this episode and the Jedi did what they thought was right, even if their intentions were flawed. Sol wanted to protect, the spike-headed witch mother wanted to harm. I have seen an article that said Qimir isn’t receiving a backstory at all in The Acolyte. I didn’t read the article so I can’t say whether or not that’s actually true, but he’s received no backstory so far and we only have one episode left.

@@IggyStardust1967 But look at the actions of the witches from an audience POV. The moment the jedi entered the home, the mother targeted, literally mind-controlled and tortured Torbin (for no reason at all, other than a show of power). In that scene, she was literally tempting Torbin with things he wanted. Guess who else does that? The emperor+dark side. We've seen the other mother teach Mae to use the power of anger (which is again dark side stuff). In a tense situation, the main mother thought the best thing to do would be use a dark mist spell? From any angle, it looks like an attack spell and Sol is completely justified in killing her in that situation. Don't forget, the witches literally mind-controlled a jedi to make him kill his friends. Imagine if the wookie Jedi had actually killed Torbin and Sol. He would have to carry on with that that guilt in his mind for the rest of his life. I tried to see the witch's side, but still I can't see them anything other than being the dark side.
