I also believe it’s made extremely irrelevant by the fact that Star Wars takes place on a galaxy-wide scale, and very far away from earth. There should be no overlap in Star Wars stories with real world issues, such as race relations. You’re telling me that humans who regularly interact with anthropomorphic slugs and other strange, even grotesque looking creatures still discriminate against their own kind for just being slightly different shades? Yea, no. Star Wars never had an issue with multiracial casting, Lando calrissian is the best example of this. But of course, it’s not historical unless _they_ do it, so the fact that Star Wars was never exclusive with casting is conveniently ignored.

Hey Disney, instead of a hundredth story about Jedi, can we please have: - A series about a bunch of podracing fans who take loans from shady space mafias to build up their dream racing stable and have an underdog trajectory over several championships while trying to navigate the cutthroat landscape of podracing, between high-adrenaline races, search for sponsors and funds and merciless concurrence - A series about a bunch of misfit civilian pilots who are forcefully taken by the Empire and made into a TIE squadron to compensate the pilot horrendous turnover where they need to learn to work together under the threat of death at war, and organize a daring escape towards the Rebellion who trains them as an X-Wing squadron but distrusts them because they might be double agents - A medical investigation series about a space Doctors Without Borders NGO who do their best to treat victims of imperial raids, scramble to find first necessity resources for space refugee camps and push back against wacky alien sickness outbreaks These ideas are on me, there is so much more to tell in this universe in every genre!

Nice try, but we all know that there is a jedi exile among the podracing team who uses the force to turn the tides of the race in their favor, and the team is incredibly disappointed because they thought they won from their own efforts/merit, which leads to a tale of broken friendships. -A bunch of misfit civilian pilots? Really? You know damn well that there's atleast the son/daughter of a high profile rebel leader within that group who have a dialogue standoff between their beliefs that war is wrong. And one of them really is a double agent which will be the person you expected it to be all along. -A medical investigation series would turn out that one of them is a sith sympathizer/student who is experimenting on the refugees to see how the sickness evolves and how it can become resistant to the different treatments that the team comes up with. And naturally it's the gay love interest of the main protagonist.

Star Wars has never been pure Sci-Fi. It was conceived as a synthesis of the more compelling elements of the Tales of the Round Table (and Merlin), Asian martial arts films, and Westerns. The producers of the Acolyte seem to have never seen the Seven Samurai, read the tales of King Arthur, read a science fiction novel, followed comics, or watched any original Star Wars films, and prove it by their references in interviews. In that way, it's a lot more like Star Trek than Camelot. The LOTR was a product of its time, but it wasn't meant as a critique or allegory of WW2 or fascism. All of Lucas Star Wars always was. Sidious ripped black holes in Space Time, mind controlled trillions across the Galaxy, and controlled Force Storms in space to destroy planets. As well as conquering death to Essence Transfer his soul over and over (or in Disney canon, once. But still...). Star Wars: The Acolyte has quickly become one of my favorite shows, especially with the thrilling developments in Episode 3. This episode dives deep into the complex relationship between twin sisters Mae and Osha Aniseya, revealing their tumultuous past and setting up intense future confrontations. I love how the show explores different cultural interpretations of the Force, specifically through the coven's concept of the "Thread," which adds a fascinating new layer to the Star Wars lore. he episode also contrasts the nurturing environment of the coven with the intrusive presence of the Jedi, offering a fresh perspective on the Jedi Order as seen through the eyes of the coven members. The emotional depth and moral ambiguity introduced in this episode make it a standout, enriching the narrative and characters in a way that has me eagerly anticipating the next chapters.
