At the end, we left Jod in the exact same place that he was in when the kids found him. Beaten (and he knows it), with nowhere to go, and waiting for the Force to provide for his next move. And the Force did provide for him. He is in a much better place now than he was at the beginning.

I just loved this finale ! This has been one the best Star Wars shows all 4 kids have been amazing!!! That shot of Ferm and Wim facing Jod with lightsaber love it ! They have grown up Jod!

I feel like Jod is genuinely one of the most interesting villains we've had in the Star Wars shows, despite his cruelty and despicable actions there are these really nice and human touches to him. Even in this finale, he seems genuinely upset and saddened when KB gets shot down and it looks like she's died; the backstory in general does a great job at fleshing him out and explaining how he ended up as a ruthless selfish pirate; and then there's how he responds to his defeat in the end - he graciously gives up once the barrier goes down, he rebuffs Wim's attempts to save him without any clear sense of spite, and the last we see of him is him watching sadly as his ship is destroyed, taking his crew - perhaps the closest thing he's had to a family since his one-time Jedi master died - with it. It doesn't change the fact that he's a greedy opportunistic jerk who exploits everyone around him, but I appreciated that the finale, and the show as a whole, gave him some depth beyond being a two-dimensional hateable character. Anyway, I feel I've been repeating myself quite a bit these last few weeks, but I've really enjoyed Skeleton Crew as a whole, and this finale really ended the story in a satisfying way. Overall, I think I can say that the show stuck the landing and can confidently be called one of the best live-action Star Wars shows, second only to Andor in my opinion. It's got a great sense of fun and adventure, the cast are really good and bring their varied colourful characters to life wonderfully, the emotional beats land really well, and in general it's a gorgeous-looking show. It would be nice if this got a second season, but even if it doesn't, this was a really nice fun self-contained little romp, and I enjoyed watching both it and your reactions to it.

Not that any of them did a poor job before but I think Ryan Kiera Armstrong (Fern) gave a great performance in the episode.

Yeah, Jod is a POS. But he could have killed the kids multiple times and he clearly didn't want to hurt them. I enjoyed that grayness in his character.

Such a delightfully written & directed show punctuated by some fabulous characters with depth & amazing acting performances by Jude Law & Kyriana Kratter (& every kid felt like the main character and that's a tribute to them) I can't believe in eight episodes we got all that, we got disability representation without being preachy, we got parents finally trusting their kids & their experiences in the end (which itself is a great lesson) and the ending leaves it open to imagination. I don't know if they're going to get a second season with those low ratings - probably not. But I hope we still see something like novelizations or animation cause I really want to see what happens to these four kids in the greater Star Wars universe.

No apologies needed, my fuzzy face family member's well being blows any SW episode out of the water as well. Loved your callout to the protocol droid in the Mandalorian "There are Pirates in the Courtyard" 😂 Favorite scenes: Pirate Frigate decending through the cloud layer. Wim igniting the lightsaber (correctly) with Fern at his side, clinched fist, stern faced. Great watching this series with you. Get Well Rocko!

Disney says the budget is too high, so no S2 for this show. At the end of the day, Disney is a business, and wants to make money, not warm hearts.

Your reaction to Whim’s dad and SM33 was everything I wanted. What a fun finale! I think Jod softened just a little. Maybe had a bit of hope when the x wings came. Or was resigned to his fate. Though it looked like he was hatching a new plan. I also think he was sad to see his old crew die. I also agree with you about Jod. They subverted our expectations by making him the villain, and they stuck to it while giving him just enough back story to explaim why he is the way he is and make him a bit more sympathetic.

Sadly I don't think we will see season 2. The viewership hasn't been good. I hope word of mouth boosts the ratings. I think this would have gotten higher ratings had it aired before the debacle that was Acolyte. Many people were turned off of Disney plus Star Wars due to Acolyte. It's sad because Skeleton Crew is amazing and people should tune in. It deserves better!

I haven't seen it personally but I have heard other reactors say that viewing figures were released......and they weren't good. Season 2 might be unlikely but hopefully we'll see the characters elsewhere
