I think thats it in a nutshell. Its not the genders, or the races. The issue with the show is the shory itself is shit and seems like GoT s8 its more intrested in the major neats of the story, than allowing the story to drive the major events. Combined with a seeming distain for the lore of the world they are playing in. Why write a starwars story if you don't like Starwars.

The confusion with talking about gender and race is that it immediately sours ppl to your point. When in reality, what is usually trying to be said, poorly, is that their parading people around telegraphs their intentions (and it's never story). The writing in this show is awful, but with better dialogue, I have no doubt these actors would be just fine. And I agree with you. It's like the ppl that used to call us losers for loving things like Star Wars got a hold of it and are now tearing the wings off while we look on uncomfortably.
