of all the Disney Plus Star Wars shows, this one has been the one I most looked forward to, eager to learn more about the unfolding story. I hope it gets better and juicier as it progresses because there's loads of potential.

I really enjoyed the cliffhangers and the tension that held in the air from week to week. I know many didn’t, but it was a fun way to tell the story. I don’t think we’re used to not knowing so many things as Star Wars fans. There’s so much unknown about these characters because the information just hasn’t ever been given to us. It’s like that floating head guy that bosses Vader around in ESB. What’s his deal? Can’t wait to see what story they put together for him.

No mention of that awesome end credits music? It's like the most impressive and interesting music to come from the show! Especially the energetic Mae's theme and later the soaring strings variation of the Loss theme.

The Mae’s theme is from episode 1 and I talked about it there. I usually don’t touch end credits but also wanted to avoid yet another power of many.

I totally thought you'd geek out or get a little more excited about the Loss theme and Qimir's theme playing simultaneously at the end, lol. I was like "whoa, so cool" when I heard it, but Maybe I'm just a sucker for when multiple themes play in counterpoint at the same time.

I certainly like me some simultaneous themes. But it didn’t develop into anything more than a moment. I think I covered everything it represented. Personally, the themes were good for this show but they never got me emotionally involved because they lacked clear designation. So, when I hear them together, I don’t know exactly what to feel or who to feel it for.

Perhaps you could interview Abels to understand the music more.

I’ve considered it every week. Honestly I’ve never done an interview and don’t know if I’d be worth their time. But I can try reaching out.

I think I good argument for Plagueis popping up but not doing anything, is because Plagueis is simply stalking Qimir and Osha. Regardless if he is Qimir's master or not, I think this is exactly what Plageuis would do, because in the legends novel of Darth Plageuis (which is an incredibly beautiful book), Plagueis stalks all the time. He stalked the sith wannabe's in that novel and killed them (and it makes your little theory of Qimir being a sith wannabe a lot more credible, since its technically paying a tiny bit homage to the legends novel) He stalked Palpatine, before he made him his apprentice and even during the Phantom Menace, when Palpatine was talking to Maul, he was stalking them from a distance (though I can't remember if that moment was canon or not). For the record, when Plagueis popped up, i just grinned like an idiot lol. As for Qimir and Venestra, I honestly hope that it isn't as simple as 'he was a former student and fell to evil'. Afterall this is the era of star wars where, jedi falling isn't supposed to happen anymore, so I think they better make a damn good reason for why Venestra didn't go after him when he turned. Can't say I was a huge fan of Osha bleeding the kyber crystal. Sure it makes sense that her rage would corrupt the crytal, but in continuity wise, it looked too easy, since in the Vader comics, Vader had a hell of a hard time bleeding his. But I can see reasons why Osha's is easier 🤷♂ I do hope they get better writers for season 2. This series may have had a very rocky start, but it does have a lot of potential to fix things and to be even better.

Hopefully, legit or not, the writers take into account any complaints about season 1. I think Qimir was Verbestra’s former apprentice and fell to the dark side. But she thought she had killed him when she stabbed him in the back. (But whipped, not stabbed) She’s obviously ashamed of this and wants to cover it up. In fact, the Jedi seem to cover up a lot in order to maintain the appearance and being pure and holy. It’s interesting the way they depicted Plagueis because it doesn’t tell us anything except that he exists in this time. If the show doesn’t get renewed, someone else could take that and develop whatever narrative they want from it. I hope the show gets picked up for season 2 because I do want to see where these stories go. I’m intrigued. I hope some acting coaches and writing editors are hired in the interim though.

I think the vergence on Brendok is the key to how Plagueis figures out how to manipulate midichlorians and create life. Qimir and the twins are probably doomed to some kind of tragic fate eventually. The Jedi order will probably win whatever political struggle they have with the senate at the expense of not fixing any of their internal structural problems which will prove to be instrumental in their downfall during the Clone Wars. I just hope a young Sidious doesn't make an appearance, we've seen more than enough of him in this franchise, lol.
@starwarsmusicanalysis3 ай бұрын
I think you’re spot on. The only question is whether Plagueis had something to do with the creation of Osha and Mae and not Mother Aniseya. Sidious won’t appear because we’re still about 100 years away from TPM. So if he does, yikes. Haha

Yeah, it would be kinda ridiculous, but then again if you told me a few years ago that he was gonna show up in Episode IX I would have said the same thing, lol. As for how Plaguies connects to it all, I could see it going either way, I just hope that they don't make it a boring exploration of a lore tidbit that we didn't really need to have expanded on. The show is more interesting in my opinion when it's doing the KotoR thing where it's exploring it's own story in a way that adds some philosophical depth and reframing to the original series. Anyways, great video 👍

I think rebuilding can be important as long as it has a level of originality as well. (Kind of what you said I think) I was glad it was Palpatine in IX but the execution was flawed. But they’ll explore Plagueis in whatever way they see best and no matter what, some fans will complain that they broke canon that wasn’t canon any more.
